Jordan Lewis To Retire this Year
absolute rubbish. Our backline instantly improved when he came back in. he is very good at impacting a game. go back and look at the hawks final last year. His first 2 years were invaluable to us as a team. he accelerated Olivers transition from an inside clearance player to a 30 possession star every week. He helped gel a backline that was average at best when he came in. and hes still the best kick in our backline. 2 years ago he was instrumental in helping us break those woeful hoodoos against the saints, north etc. no-one was standing up and he made a difference. He was without doubt a bit tick in our recruitment to help us get to finals. He was the cool head under pressure in close games. tell me else was going to help us break through those barriers ?

POSTGAME: Rd 11 vs Adelaide
agreed. JKH gone, Omac depth can play in twos as back up. Garlett im 50/50 atm. last night he was good, then poor at the contest, good at the contest, good again then p1ssweak in the last quarter. see how his year pans out as we don't have too many forward pockets on the list at present.

POSTGAME: Rd 11 vs Adelaide
if you look at it clinically, JKH had a real shocker tonight. I;'ve though he could play a bit but his efforts, his skills, lack of reading of the play were all terrible. falling to ground against Jenkins deep in defence cost us a goal no-one would cough up. I knew that would hurt us badly. He's had too many chances.

Jordan Lewis suspended for 1 week.
utterly ridiculous post. goes harder than most on our list and also knows when to not be a 'moth to the flame' something we still haven't worked out as a group yet. does not shirk the contest.

PREGAME: Rd 10 vs GWS Giants
We Have Petty, Frost, Omac, Tmac as talls on a certain wet day. Would be madness to play Preuss.

Injury List - Season 2019
great news on KK who seemed to be permanently on the long term injury list. I want to see what he can produce with some continuity. although prior to injury he didn't look that fit.

WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - HARRISON PETTY
agreed its slow, but think you might find May the quickest. I think we have to develop a quick backman soon but Hibberd, May, Frost aren't slow. We just need that clever kicking line breaker like Houli, Saad to get us out of trouble sometimes.

Casey Demons v Port Melbourne - Round 7
Yes he showed last year his elite qualities are intercept marking and reading of the play, but not great one on one. That’s why May in theory is a great pick up if we can get it to all come together.
-
Sam Weideman + contract
cant take a break at the Dees. and coming off a very productive game too.
-
POSTGAME: Rd 08 vs Gold Coast
actually they were the Steven Bradbury. We smashed them all night and couldn't convert. if they won it was becuase we couldn't put them away. almost a miracle if they won that. We tripped over then got up for one last go to win.

POSTGAME: Rd 08 vs Gold Coast
So. Us the game in the end and you choose to bag him. Laughable.

Jon Patton
blues list is looking better ? umm no. lets not lose perspective here. our midfield is light years ahead and up and running have more powerful talls.

Dees honesty session.
North are having their honesty session this week. We have to wait a week at least to do another one.

Post Game: Rd 5 v St. Kilda
Summed up perfectly. Get it outside and it’s almost [censored] the gate on us. Its unconyested passions that kill us. And I was complaining about this when Roos was coach. We have bugger all athletic players. We need line breakers and outside players.

Sack everyone (mega-thread)
Roos was better defensively but I also watched him recruit good decent footballers without pace. Top 10 picks on Salem and Tyson and prime example. Then just kept picking them. These were his ‘types’. We are now left with a good hard tough football side with no balance. We spread like treacle and he is partly to blame. No balance.
-
Worried
Well we gave up a bloke who is fast and can kick. He was always someone who could be a 20 possession 3 goal player. SOmething we sorely lack. Blind Freddy could see that and it’s our own fault.

Viney & Intermittent Fasting
But they hook onto fad eating routines like paleo etc. where do you get your guidance from? I think dietitians vary too much and have such ridiculous eating plans.
-
Allir Allir
hes a fairly good intercept mark but poor kick. I think he is overrated but AFL worthy nonetheless.
-
WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - MARTY HORE
looks a natural footballer to me and I see a lot of potential in him. thought against Port he had good awareness despite being a bit off the higher pace. looks a good footballer and was easily our most assured backman last night.

Injury List - Season 2019
hell probably beat May back
-
What to do with Nathan Jones
agreed. his only hope is extracting through the midfield. and he is losing confidence I feel. not quick enough to play at the pointy end or the wing. well maybe 'just' be able to. he should be playing Tysons role. I think its also a glaring weakness that we have no wingers of note and he has to play there. Kolodjashnij has been very underwhelming. Hunt is lost there. and not sure we have recruited any new ones from the 2018 draft either.

WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - STEVEN MAY
both are out injured. over statement ?
-
Jordan Lewis
Well yes and its inexcusable that Lewis plays for 2 years and we still haven't found a few players to 'become' that type with experience and leadership in the backline. To me its the most disappointing factor to Goodwin. we don't have blokes coming off the back of the square due to the new rules, and we cant play traiditional defensive roles all of a sudden. He's chose his line coaches and Chaplin is coaching a disorganised rabble. this is now his real test as a coach and he is failing. He has the cattle to beat Port and beat Essendon.
-
Operation get rid of Oscar and ANB!
agreed. now was the time for him as a more experienced player to take the game on, kill the ball and take some intercept marks. try and be like Astbury at Richmond. but hes bereft of confidence. unfair to bring in Petty till hes cherry ripe.
-
Sack everyone (mega-thread)
totally agree. if we at least had an organised backline we would be 2-1. Midfield not the problem, forward line down especially with TMac playing injured / underdone. but the backline is a chaotic shambles. no pace, no teamwork, no system.
