Geez, Viney straight to the tall defender again
BOG for Richmond he’s been, Viney that is.

Playing list most over rated in the comp, continue to butcher the ball, Viney terrible today.
May & lever biggest bust of all time.
so many players down today, again. -
Jack Viney - handball to someone under pressure, get it back and kick it straight to the opposition, it’s his go to.

Great insightful interview guys, good to hear the confidence in the whole club from Glenn ??

Let me guess? He’s not getting the fundamentals right... but once he does, look out ??
-
Copped a touch up from Geelongs seconds ?
It’s not all about high draft picks...

Supporters are sick of the talk, we want results and this current leadership admin and coaches group steering the ship is running out of time, quickly.

Lockhart had 2 mistakes, but he was one of our best against West Coast, and was clearly struggling after starting well and copping an early knock. I personally think he deserves a good crack at nailing that spot down.
Was good in the first qtr, coughed up a couple of goals when getting caught holding the ball. Is a great young talent and best 18 though.

Give Vanders / Hannan another crack.
mFC will drop Rivers, certainty, it’s what they do - build them up then axe then. -

based on last season & the first 3 games this season where exactly is that improvement coming from ? It’s not going to just magically appear.
We are better than last yr, not hard really..
Need a bit of continuity with this group and we will see improvement imo.

We are a talented team but a dumb team. Perhaps that's a reflection of our coaching?
It's not all bad though. Brayshaw, Lever, Viney and Hibberd were pretty decent.
Kozzie will be better for the experience. Hannan better for the run. Lockhart started well but made bad errors as he got tired.
Smith played OK
The concerns are the form of Fritsch, Salem and vanders. Rivers had one he'd rather forget.
Fritsch is not strong enough to play deep.
great summary dee tox.- 1

Positives:
Brayshaw was back playing well
May was better
Trac continues his excellent form
Kosi wow will be great to watch for a long time
Tmac contested all day
Hibbo good by foot and showed dash.
Negative:
Selection still a worry for mine, Nev & Jones experience was needed against a seasoned Geel side
Vanders looked a way off, thought he was injured because I hadn’t seen him for so long
stupid simple decisions cost us the game
too much handball in tight
overall: Geelong are a better team

10changes since rd1, selection seems to be based on emotional decisions, good news stories.. odd selections over the last 18 months.

Been a member for 40 years, I’ll donate more when the club actually starts to perform on field and become relevant again.

With Langford and Stringer on the bench, it is a bit taller than ours, but yes I see your point.
Looking like Smith might play forward at some stage for us then.
Smith will not play forward, he has trained all preseason as a defender and played the majority of his career as a defender, we have an abundance of mid forwards named in this weeks team and he will not be one of them.

Going to start this by saying I think he still has the goods in him to get back to being a good power forward. Perhaps not the 50+ goal a year forward we need but still capable of 30-40+.
Having said that Tom has been poor for a while now. Like others he had injury issues coming into 2019 which made him start slow and aside from the Carlton game which he subsequently got injured, he never really played a game worth noting. Now in 2020, with a full pre-season of fitness under his belt, he has started with two poor games. The question in the title says it all: how long do we wait for him to turn it around?
This could potentially tie in with Weiderman and how he isn't being played, where if Tom's poor form continues and maybe if Sam is banging down the door, perhaps Sam takes on the full mantle of the FF role.
I have long believed that Tom's form is massively linked to our ability to compete with the best, without a key forward target taking grabs, we look really lost as a team.
You will be waiting a long long time, Toms AFL career has mostly been underwhelming, I have very low expectations for what he will produce moving forward and I fear his trade value will be minimal at best.

Is that 9 changes since Rd 1? A settled team is something we haven’t had for a long time..

Weed for TMac

They have gained even more zip / run at ground level which is a real worry given we haven't been able to match them in this area (or other similar style teams) in the past 3 years or so. Early days but the injection of Hill and Butler seems like decent selections. The younger Jones not too shabby either. The Doggies are usually rated in this same area also so if that;'s anything to go by the Saints will be one to watch this season.
Yes agree + King up forward, great mix for them..

Saints looking good...
-
So who plays on Stringer next week?
TMac in for another tough day vs Hurley. -

TMac’s fall from grace is killing us. He looked like an absolute lump out there again yesterday. I watched him try and change direction at one stage and they almost had to let him out the stadium to complete his turn.
He has bulked up considerably through his torso - chest & back but it has cost him his agility...
To go with that he couldn’t keep his feet, if he is to be our main focal point up forward we are in strife.
-
Let’s start shuffling the deck chairs at selection, again...
