The cats would probably also have control of the catering rights as well, which is where alot of the profit comes from

Looks like Sheahan has been reading H's posts in reference to the comparisons to Reiwoldt.

Perhaps I'm too old fashioned because I believe that a kid's development should come before any marketing exercises, mind you I think he handled the whole situation extremely well. -
He reminds me so much of Godfrey
-
Didn't someone from this website design an away jumper? From memory it was bloody good, much better than anything the club has come up with.

I still believe that Lucas is up there as well, would love two of Scully, Trengove or Lucas
-
That's a great point miller time, and I missed the significance of it at the time.

I love Robo but gee. he frustrates me. I've lost count the amount of times he's worked his way to the front only to then try and take a chest mark instead of taking it out in front of him, allowing the defender to get his hand in and punching the ball away. Such a basic error that is one of the first things your taught in schoolboy footy.

You don't think that the president texting all Melbourne supporters to go to the game to see Jack's debut was over the top? How many other clubs have gone down that path with any new recruit? -
Priority picks don't exist next season which is why we have to make the most of it this year

deanox is spot on, the club went overboard and handled it pretty poorly imo. I still think the kid has shown quite a bit in his first two games though, for an 18 y/o he's handled the pressure very well. -

I don't care either, I'm not going to respond to the idiot because I think we've all had enough of his crap -
I'm sorry if you got the impression that gen y annoys me, because they don't. They help me keep my job because I'm in finance And sorry H, that will be my last post on the topic

Actually gen y have demonstrated the exact opposite. In the lending industry it's been their generation who have pushed the market to bring out new home lending products. Instead of borrowing to 80% or 85%, which up untill now has been the norm, they've almost been solely responsible for introduction of new products that allow 95% lending of the value of the property. This is even with the increase in the value of the first home owners grant. Some of the major banks have even buckled further and introduced a 100% loan meaning no valid savings at all, the fhog goes into the government charges. Generally they borrow to the maximum of their capacity to service their debt with no thought to the future and what will happen when the rates go up or if they get into trouble and the value of the ppty goes down meaning their loan is more than what the house is worth. Added to this the standard credit card from all of the major lenders (normally max'd out), store cards and a motor vehicle loan. As to who taught them? My guess is a combination of media, great marketing by the big companies and hollywood. Kids now are encouraged to get what they want now, why save when it's so fuckign easy to ring up and get a credit card with a $20k limit? Most kids no longer save because their spare cash goes into their mobile phone bill and ipod downloads. Our society is now about instant gratification, who gives a [censored] about the future.

Oh, almost forgot, post no.35 in the thread, as I've already said I've already responded to you, FFS how many times do I have to say it, Next time read the thread before having to make the rest of us to endure your lunacy and making an absolute fool of yourself, there's your response you idiot -

I actually think that he's shown quite abit in his first two games, and this comes from someone who honestly thought he'd do absoluetly nothing this year. He's demonstrated his ability to lose his man and find space in a crowded and dysfunctional forward line, he's also shown a glimpse of his goal kicking ability. Even though he has struggled with the pace of the game, as all most rookie do, at various times he's also shown his quick hands and willingness to take body contact, something that did concern me about him. I rate myself as probably one of the very few who he doesn't view him with rose coloured glasses on because I wasn't convinced that we did make the right choice. However even to me he's shown enough to already convince me. FFS he's still at school and he was deliberately held back by the club for 6 months, further slowing his development but I know it was the right decision and imagine what he'll do with a mature body and confidence to attack the footy. Watts and Jurrah are going to terrorize opposition defenders for years because of their ability in the air and the agility on the ground. Now we just have to get the midfield right to supply these guys. -
This is also Rivers first season back after writing off a couple so he was always going to be rusty. The most important thing is that he's back playing, he doesn't have to dominate this year, let him gradually get his confidence back.
-
Perhaps not but it's a fair enough generalisation. Gen Y has demonstrated a very real attitude of impatience. Compare the average debt to previous generations at the same age and the results are alarming. Personal loans, credit cards, asset finance, gen Y is well known in the finance industry for spending now and saving, well...never. 'Why bother saving when you can have it now' is a typical attitude and something that the major banks have relied on to continue to post huge profits even in these hard times.

If I was getting my 'knickers in a twist' then I wouldn't be laughing, would I.

Don't make things up to suit your argument, you've done this before and it's boring. As I've said to you before I'm more than happy to discuss footy topics with you but I'm not going to bother if you're going to be pathetic again. Or perhaps you don't want to talk footy? Perhaps you want me to unblock your private messages so you can send me love letters again? Sadly timmy I don't sway that way. Alas, you'll just have to get your rocks off some other way. Bad luck kiddo, next time read my posts properly before trying to score points again. -

Don't be so melodramatic, this has already been discussed ad nauseam, it's not like we're breaking new ground on anything. -

You're joking right? Are you really this slow? Let's use Kruezer as an example, the most recent number 1 pick, also can play as a kp. Now compare when they both started their respective pre seasons. By the time round 1 came for Kruezer he pretty much had a full pre season under his belt and by this stage he had played every game. I won't even bother making the comparisons like Gibbs and Cooney, they're so obvious I can't believe that anyone is seeking an explanation. A decision was made between the club, Jack's parents and his school to delay his pre season by about 6 months so yes, of course he's behind other recent number 1 picks and I believe that the right decision was made. I'm also amazed that you disagree with this, the kid is still at school and I'm bewildered that cretins expect him to already be at his best. Give him a chance to get a couple of pre seasons under his belt before execting the world of him -
Very true wd, added his very late start to his pre season training and he was always going to be a slow starter. Just wait till his body develops and then we'll see what he's capable of.

How the [censored] would I know? I didn't make any comparisons between Jon Brown and Watts, that was someone else. I suggest you read the whole thread before making a fool of yourself.
