Sydney fan: "Gee Melbourne's midfield throw it a lot" Me: Clarry moves faster than your brains ability to process his movement!

If we win the flag, Melksham might be the best case for a Premiership Medallion for the list that got you there. Maybe with a minimum of 5 or 10 games.

From Lukewarm Beveridge to Boiling Hot Beveridge

Port would probably prefer Brisbane at the GABBA than the Pies at the G IMO. For some reason interstate teams have never feared playing interstate against non-vic sides, regular season or finals.
-
Oh well, an mcg final v Collingwood is probably a better matchup than the a 2v3 mcg home final vs the Lions. Given Hoyne has the Lions equal with us as the best teams in it with 17/25 premeirship metrics filled. Bitter pill to swallow though given WE EARNT that 2nd spot on the ladder.

His young brother Darcy kicked 20 at Coldstream didn't he? Could be a useful sub if TMAC has a quiet one
-
George on the Outer absolutely spot on with his ins on the podcast (Catching up now) - Although I don't think we'll "beat Sydney regardless" because they're on a pretty big winning streak and we would actually have play at our best to get over the line, AND it could be a bruising affair like last years QF. If 2nd is on the line then we'll go for it.

I've only ever heard Goldstein wanting to be a one club player in interviews. Seems more important to him than playing in finals, or maybe even playing again. He has a type of misplaced club loyalty that is to the detriment of maximising his individual potential and retiring a (league) great. He could've won a flag with Geelong. And could win a flag with another club, but he has chosen not to.

Is Strawberry really ginger? Or is Strawberry strawberry blonde?

And this GCS pick for points thing that us, dogs, and other clubs are trying to get their hands on. Did we give him a 1 or 2 year deal? I assumed it was 2 and he'll be backup next year again.
-
So if Hawks beat Freo and GCS beat Norf, we get pick 4 and Nth pick 1 And if North win we get pick 5 but will somehow convince WCE to take it and other picks for pick 1? Well colour me confused about who to barrack for.

Some of the kicks Rivers did on the weekend were just a level above anyone else on the ground. 50-60 metre pin point passes. Only player that can get that length AND accuracy is Tex Walker.

How useful? Not one result would've been changed, nor would be changed going forward with them in the team.

If I'm a Pies supporter, I want Melbourne in a prelim after they've lost at the GABBA and had a bruising extra time win over Carlton. I want Brisbane on the MCG in a GF, the only venue where they haven't beaten the Pies and where they're a big chance to [censored] their bed. And so I want a QF 2v3 Port matchup on the G, where they trounced them, as well as beating them on their home deck a few weeks ago just for good measure. I'm going to automatically assume Lions/Port win their r24 games. Edit: And if Melb d Brisbane at the GABBA, then as a Pies supporter you're happy to play Lions in a prelim, just to have the easiest path to get to the GF to take on the Dees. I know a club won't intentionally go out to lose, but that's the ideal path for the Pies. It serves them better to rest half the team and lose in a 'practice type' match to Essendon. There might be a bunch more 'deadrubbers' this weekend, one of which might be our game v Sydney, if they already have a home final, and we already know who we are playing in the QF. You can't say there won't be an element of self-preservation and softness with these types of fixtures, where the result doesn't matter at all. Like the result: Freo d WB r23 2016

Wonder if Collingwood will tank themselves into 2nd to play Port Adelaide at the G. And give us the Lions at the GABBA. Flirting with form withstanding, it's a pretty solid move to avoid us and have the 'easiest' of the top 4 fixturing permutations

Death Riding Fremantle 2023 - Feathered Cap Edition
John Demonic replied to adonski's topic in Melbourne Demons
First week of the year that the deathriders can celebrate knowing Pick 6 to 9 are off the table finally. Pick 4 or 5 Locked in! Shame it had to be Port doing the winning though -
+ LDU Early premiership? They'd dominate the TAC Cup but it's going to be a fair long time until they're a premiership contender. Need a defence and another tall forward.
-
We ? The fans? The club? We were on a winning streak until a [censored] goal umpiring soft call in a match befitting of a prelim. Where are we getting comfortable? Save that line if we come out lazily and lose v Hawthorn please. If you mean we as in us fans, well it's a psychological defence mechanism isn't it? Trying to be positive and make the most of a difficult situation with potential interstate travel.
-
I have no idea if Sydney winning is good for us next week whether we beat hawthorn or not, and I'm too afraid to ask.
-
Geelong can Go and Get Fudged! No Dangerfield free agency to help you contend after missing finals.
-
Lions aren't over the line yet. Saints playing well tonight and will be playing for a home final next week and to avoid elimination by percentage at worst.
