Isaac Smith
https://www.sen.com.au/news/2019/05/28/dogs-to-target-hawks-premiership-midfielder-and-star-sun-in-potential-trade/ “Trade news comes early, the cashed up Bulldogs have put together their hit list for this year and Isaac Smith is at the top of it. Prodigious talent Jack Martin is the next one on the list. “Smith is a huge favourite of Luke Beveridge’s who spent three years with him at Hawthorn. “Beveridge still believes that Smith is the best wingman in the competition.

POSTGAME: Rd 10 vs GWS
There was a critical goal in the first half that should've been touched on the line but Oscar was completely oblivious to a Himmelberg bump that pushed him over the goal line and away from a goal saving spoil. ?♂️ Just remembered that one. Bloody clueless.

The 2019 Mid Season Draft
Bit harsh. His impact last year was worth the years he toiled away in rehab for us taking up a spot on the list. I don't think many players or picks would give us that kind of bang for buck. He has all year to get right for next year and make another big impact.

POSTGAME: Rd 10 vs GWS
See, the trick is to watch it on DELAY When it gets to 44-9, you decide to skip through rapidly in 5s increments to see if we're mounting any kind of fight back. Then when its around 56-11 you just skip through minutes at a time and then eventually you've watched quarters 2, 3 & 4 in 10 or so minutes. Then you can devote the hour or two you've saved to doing something useful...

Well the equalization measures suggests that we'll have a logjam in the middle, so i think you need a few more spots to accommodate, 10 in 10 out has a nice symmetry to it. I have a counter point though. Is rewarding the elite accomplishment of finishing 5th and 6th with a home final enough reward? If you're a team like Geelong or St Kilda, then it means nothing when the game is at the MCG and you're playing an MCG team. At least with a top 10, you're giving 5th and 6th an extra weeks rest, and demoting 7th and 8th to an elimination final round vs 9th and 10th straight after the regular season. You'd probably be fresher for a semi final too against a top 4 team. I'm comfortable creating three tiers. top 4, 5 & 6 and then 7-10 but only in the event of a 20 team comp.

Pyke to Sydney, Horse to Kangas, Goodwin to Adelaide, Roos to Melbourne, Scott to Carlton, Bolton to On The Couch You heard it here first.

Nah I want a fresh Tasmanian team, they would be most peoples affectionate 2nd team we all want to see succeed and rooting for the Roos is just too unpalatable. My masterplan for the comp includes 20 teams, 19 round season, 10 team finals series and so North moving to Tassie disrupts that. Fresh Tassie team and another team somewhere else please.

Demonland Podcast featuring Steven O'Dwyer TONIGHT (Tuesday 11/6) @ 8:30pm
The Front Bar played a clip of him inviting the ladies to come down to a pub for some drinks, after the night grand final victory on the podium. Did they come?

AFL "Fairness"
- Looking Forward 2020 & Beyond
That he hasn't played yet and will unlikely make an impact on our ability to make finals makes the irony very cruel when he would have come for free at the end of this year as a FA and we could've drafted a kid pick 6, if we'd waited.- Is this 1987 all over again?
I'm not sure if that means Oliver will win the Brownlow in 2020 or Brayshaw with a bleached mop ?- Is this 1987 all over again?
It's almost like we are not training style/s that adapt to circumstance. We could certainly not currently be considered "a team that can excel with plan A, but mitigate any damage successfully with a plan B" which i'd ascribe to a club that can focus on winning and not just playing a certain style.- Changes vs GW$ Giants
Agree with this. There is no point playing Gus on the wing. He's either in the middle or we trade him to acquire a mid who can play wing & inside when required. But we need to shift player/s around to accommodate for more midfield time. Oliver & Viney can play more forward time, Jones more defence or forward. Harmes & Brayshaw seem more suited to midfield predominantly.- The Writing Was/Is on the Wall
Yeah, but does Goody have the guts to put Viney somewhere else? Viney would be more useful on a wing or even Half forward if it meant we had the best of Brayshaw back in the middle, he's wasted on the wing. Gawn, Oliver & Brayshaw were an amazing tandem last year.- The Writing Was/Is on the Wall
I'm so glad someone else is saying this too. The media line that we have too many of the same types is no coincidence and has ramifications on our playing style. We need to make a big trade move this year to acquire an outside running mid with speed and burst if we're not getting a Free agent. It's plainly obvious that Viney is also off limits for cultural and leadership reasons moreso than talent reasons. So it would be between Brayshaw, Petracca and Harmes. But Petracca has a very high ceiling and is not worth trading for what we'd get I think. I've said in a trade thread a few weeks that in terms of a forecasted ceiling, Harmes may be at his highest point of value right now given he is a late pick and you'd pick Brayshaw to improve far more. But as it stands he's being played in the middle as a priority over Brayshaw who has again been moved to a position that doesn't suit his natural abilities. So I think if this continues then Brayshaw would probably be the most open to a trade at the end of the year and Harmes seems more in the Viney mould of limited ability, but would be kept for a mix of reasons that include being a barometer for the team right now re run and momentum. if I was Freo list manager with Langdon or Cerra wanting a trade, i would be looking at a player like Harmes and thinking back to 2 years ago and where he was at, I would be reticent to trade for him without more coming back. Brayshaw as a pick 3 is going to provide the best trade value out there right now in us attaining an elite running mid. Edit: And I'd keep Salem over Brayshaw. This year more so than any other has shown the reasons for that.- Changes vs West Coast
Petty is going to mark and rebound everything, Baker & ANB are going to run them ragged on the wings and Bull is going to mark and run through everything- Sam Lowson
Bit of a C \_/ |\| T move to circumvent the profanity filter!- Changes vs West Coast
It was a slight overreaction, the bloke he was responding to just said a few players "deserve to be dropped" - i don't see how that's keyboard warrioring.- Gablett... the better
- Worst Kicks Inside 50
Maybe Oliver needs to handball into the 50 as he has the fastest pick up / flick off in the game ?- Goody Presser (14/5)
Our big win against Adelaide looked massive at the time, until we learnt that they were having a gf hangover all year and would end up outside the 8. Our big win against WCE looked massive at the time, until we learnt how they play with their two time coleman medalist in the team when a grand final spot is on the line and not in a deadrubber. Memorable wins none the less, but fools gold on revision. I do actually think the WCE and Adelaide wins in 2017 were better than any wins last year. One was gritty and full of sheer determination and the latter against the Crows was a tactical destruction and smothering of all of their strengths while they were at their peak. Having said that though, we never played at a level that Richmond did that year and they would've crushed us if we'd actually beaten Collingwood in round 23 and gotten into the finals. So far this year it has looked utterly meager against the top team in Geelong as we've slid backwards.- Has the 6-6-6 Rule Backfired?
