My 3 word player analysis V Adelaide
Agree. I was really critical of him last week but he redeemed himself yesterday with one of his best performances of the year.

Media Bias - What can we do?
I agree that they weren’t above us, but I could see where he was coming from after we had just lost two in a row. Goodwin even lauded Freo as a team on the rise in his post match presser after that game.

COACHES VOTES: Rd 19 2023
Had a few costly turnovers in the last qtr.

Media Bias - What can we do?
To be fair, Freo had just won something like 3 or 4 in a row (including the Cats) and were playing really good footy. Since Darcy’s injury they haven’t been the same. What grinds my gears more is the whole “Collingwood were rife with illness”narrative around our win against them. Kingy mentioned it today when saying how the MCG was a fortress to Collingwood and he had to use an excuse for them losing to us.

PREGAME: Rd 20 vs Richmond
I think the extra tall forward such as Brown is doing wonders for our forward line. He goes on long leads and his height and stretch worries the opposition. My main issue with Brown is that he’s terrible once the ball hits the ground. Schache is better at the ground level stuff and is a better field kick but I think the coaches really value Brown’s craft and experience which is what Grundy and Schache do not have.

POSTGAME: Rd 19 vs Adelaide
Adelaide are the second best offensive side in the comp and have a very healthy percentage. It was amazing that we let them only kick 6 goals in the first 3 qtrs. Once the shackles came off and with some costly turnovers, they did kick some easy ones, but overall I think beating the two best offensive sides back to back is a great relief. I think we’ll defend Richmond much better next week given their lack of tall targets. All we need to do is win 2 of our next 5 and top 4 is guaranteed. It’s unbelievable how well we’ve done without Oliver. One other thing, Chin over Spargo any day. He has so much more depth to his kicks.

Expected Score: Port: 88.7 Pies: 56.9 Another lucky escape for Collingwood.

31% of Curnow’s 61 goals has come against the Eagles. Makes you wonder about the equality of this year’s Coleman medal.

Are we going for Geelong or Brisbane? I don’t want Geelong stealing 4th spot but at the same time 3rd spot is appealing.

Double whammy. Tigers will be up and about for next week and pick 3 blown.

CASEY: Rd 18 vs Coburg
We’ve only played him 1 game. We really should have given him more given time how much we’ve let JVR coast at AFL level.

2023 Injury List
I’m still concerned that Oliver’s timeframe isn’t actually getting any shorter. Before the Saints game it was 4 weeks. 2 weeks later it’s still 3-4 weeks. When are we going to get it to be 1-2 weeks? As it stands, Goody has ruled him out for Richmond, and I doubt he plays against North and do the plane trip. Surely the Carlton game is the target.

The Run Home
It’ll also be his 400th game as a Senior coach. Fantastic.

The Run Home
Probably makes the North game a bit more of a danger game. Tassie is never easy, but there’ll be added emotion to this game.

Speaking of Geelong, I checked that excluding 2020, the last time we didn’t have to travel to GMHBA was 2014. Every season it’s either only been one game a season and it’s been at GMHBA or twice and hence still a game at GMHBA. Is the reason for this because we’re an easy selection to get them to their 9 game quota which they need to fill against at least some Victorian clubs?
