  1. So he can the same short-lived and unfulfilled career of so many other young talents at the Suns? They are like us circa 2007-2012. A talent graveyard, a place where potential comes to die. A kid like Kalani would much prefer to come to us at this stage, where they can be confident of entering a culture conducive to fulfilling potential and exceeding expectations.
  2. More likely for GC to try to load up on future picks, due to their lack of list spots.
  3. When he was drafted, I recall questioning the selection as I didn’t think we needed to select him that early in the draft. To think I would have risked another club claiming such a talent. Bravo Fritta.
  4. Shockingly bad call RE: Taylor’s recruitment ability.
  5. How’s the disillusionment going for you? You’re typically an astute poster, so had to call this one out!
  6. Don’t remember it, but I’ll take it. Just happy he’s ours.
  7. On-field success will gloss over the reality. Ignorance is bliss I guess.
  8. Yeah, laugh it up - fortunately the playing group are insulated from Pert. He doesn’t live our values & I eagerly await his departure.
  9. I initially saw Sparrow as a Brad Sewell type, then could see the Luke Parker similarities, but why put that sort of limitation on him? He has been exceptional. And someone compared him to Harmes? Please. Much more valuable.
  10. I mean this in the nicest way possible, but I think someone is pulling your leg.
  11. This was reported at one stage, and I was shocked, but it turned out to be unconfirmed. I’ll eat my hat if it eventuates. Not widely known, but Balmey stepped into a consultant role at Richmond (and missed the 2020 GF) due to a serious health scare and is unlikely to be in a key role again. Even less likely to leave his family based in Melbourne.
  12. Honestly, not sure we could go wrong with either of Rick or Trac, but happy to bask in the glow of the Gawn era for now.
  13. Burgo is gone sadly, but you can understand his reasoning. I think he’ll be sorely missed however we’ll be fine in the scheme of things.
  14. Disagree. Nothing wrong with showing a bit of emotion, Gawn does it. Trac has matured and will continue to do so. As captain, I think he’d blossom and surprise us all. Not soon, but I’m eager to see it happen one day.
  15. Buy low, sell high...
  16. Connors guarding his reputation? Surely not!
  17. Scarlett would potentially fill the gap that Leppitsch would have. But I hope he doesn’t.
  18. Malcolm Blight at St Kilda vibes.
  19. That first game against GWS, the G was echoing with “Crikey, Jordie McKenzie’s really improved over preseason!”
  20. Surely they’re playing it at the Redback or Shepherds Bush Walkabout. Even a Slug & Lettuce.
  21. Hamling left Geelong after not being able to get a game ahead of Scarlett, Lonergan, Mackie, Taylor, etc. to go to Bulldogs for opportunity, but finding himself on the fringes behind Morris, Adams, Wood, Cordy, Roughead, et al, sneaking into the finals side as a result of injuries. In spite of his talent, heading to Freo only prolonged a career that was sure to dissipate if he stayed at the Bulldogs.
  22. CCJ through the PSD, I’d have thought. Nice little freebie for North who need the support.
  23. I love reading FoxFooty’s AFL Draft Power Rankings Top 20 intro: ”There’s a ‘fab four’ followed by a peloton of four to six players. Then you could almost throw a blanket over the next 40, such is the evenness of talent across the class.” Standard fare to get supporters of clubs without good draft hands interested, but music to my ears nonetheless. Jason Taylor & Tim Lamb - get to work panning for gold.
  24. Wouldn’t be surprised. Couldn’t see Josh Mahoney getting the role through. He’s a shrewd operator, but also has a bit of the Adrian Andersons about him.
  25. Are these things that much of a distraction though? Wouldn’t have thought so.
