Nice use of stats. Do you have the figures of effects per user as that would be the only real indicator?

Didn't say drug use was OK, but it is very different from drug abuse.

Maybe he was thinking of different clam
-
Then maybe you should actually write that, your quote above shows very clearly what it was you said, unless of course you don't stand by what you said?

Managers lie....never! I am certainly not confident and think next year is more likely, if ever, but the door hasn't been shut, just closed a little more.

Some serious questions asked about Paul Roos ...
Chris replied to dazzledavey36's topic in Melbourne Demons
Roos admitted this was a problem, it is a problem, but to expect it to be fixed by a snap of his fingers, which you seem to expect (note SEEM) is unrealistic. It is also not the coaches job to motivate players, the coach is there to put structures in place, teach the players how he wants them to play, and to put a culture in place. Making the players put in effort is in part down to doing the three things above (so in part on the coach) but is mainly on the players. -
To quote you "I'd also say you're quite content being a sheep if you're so caught up in the legality." Your argument is clearly that if you follow the 'it's illegal' line of thinking then you are a sheep. Your argument, not mine. Maybe if you want people to understand you then actually write what you mean.
-
He didn't re-sign he just said he would honour his contract with GC. Effectively saying he wont seek a trade but that doesn't actually rule out him being traded.
-
That wasn't your argument but nice try.
-
If it is everywhere, as you say it is, then wouldn't the sheep be the people using it, not the people against its use?

Big difference between drug abuse and drug use. Drug use is fairly widespread in the demographic we are talking about, drug abuse not so much but still a significant problem.

Brisbane Lions Consider Asking for Priority Picks
Chris replied to The Song Formerly Known As's topic in Melbourne Demons
Certainly has merit. I take the opposing view I suppose in that I think all should have access to most of the talent therefore removing the luck of father sons or a good crop of youngsters from one area. Either way has merit and would be an improvement on the current system, although that's not hard. -

I am a big advocate for academies for all but I think two players a year is far too steep, I think 3 in every five years for free would do the job. If you want more than your three then it goes by the old rules in the draft. -
It is technically post round 23 discussion until the first round next year so I don't see why not.

Watch what you say, WADA might be watching and we don't want any rumours to start. -
Plenty of anaerobic going on in the thighs of the cyclists in the tour. I comes down to the cycling of oxygen around the body, aerobic is when the blood is supplying enough oxygen, anaerobic is when you push past what the blood can supply and your body works without the oxygen supply from the blood, in very simple terms. Think of it like this, if you sprint flat out you will get puffed, while you are sprinting and still not fully puffed it is aerobic as your body can keep up with your oxygen supplies, if you keep sprinting hard you get puffed and your heart rate goes nuts as it is trying to keep the oxygen flowing but cant keep up, this is going into anaerobic. Repeat sprints would go into anaerobic reasonably quickly. Sustained exertion on one muscle, like the thighs on a climb in the tour would as well, but while they aren't exerting as much on the flat it would be aerobic. Any sport scientist types feel free to correct.

Some serious questions asked about Paul Roos ...

You seem to lack an understanding of the word seem. As I said you seem to think that all problems should not exist. This may not be your position but it is how it comes across, you SEEM to think this. You have also put words in my mouth, I on numerous occasions have said that the lack of effort is an issue, as it clearly is, I just don't fall for the golden bullet approach from the savior coach. It has to be player driven if it is to be sustainable. Roos didn't also sound like he had no idea how to solve it, he said he didn't know as he didn't know the cause. He also said he would work to find it out. Honest, up front and realistic, unless of course the coach should immediately have all the answer and solutions that is. -

You talk about how a legendary coach can't get the players playing for four weeks. This is a problem, agreed, but you seem to think it shouldn't exist, then you name all the young players who can do it but seem to ignore that that may be due to Roos, not despite him. It also points that this particular issue may be due to past expectations and issues with past cultures the older players have come through. This may take time to solve but you expect that you magical coach can solve this and should have. In other posts you do seem to think that all problems should not exist and it is Roos' fault that they do, you expect too much too fast. -
Doesn't mean much if the club want to trade him.

Brisbane Lions Consider Asking for Priority Picks

I would love to see us say nothing and then shove it right up em when we march to the top. Would be very satisfying. -

So the two new pets/expansion sides come in and destroy the draft for years which affected teams such as the Dees, Saints, Dogs, and Lions and it looks like finally the AFL have seen the error in their ways, but it will only really help their old pet the Lions. Talk about draft tampering if this is true. -

You seem to have missed the point completely. CBF didn't say it wasn't a problem, actually they said there were problems. What the rightly questioned was your view that there should be no problems after 2 years at the top. -
Disagree except for the last 4 weeks or so, this is about the whole year though, not just one lean patch. I think the last few weeks would have taken him out of the team but not the squad!

Dane swan comes to mind, has been good but Vince has been better.
