  1. @Demonstone has just reminded me I was going to bump this. Yep, let's see if there's any stragglers out there, re-fired-up by his latest.😊
  2. I did, cos of that messaging problem I had. I'll try again, and I, too, suspect. In the end it certainly wasn't rocket science (although, curiously, very fundamental to it!)
  3. I'm presuming 'aggressive', attached to 'philisophically', and AR's '...we had it taken away from us...(at times last year)' means in game style - i.e. moving the ball on more quickly, instinctively, to open (riskier?) areas of the field - not physical aggression. No mention the fall-offs were fitness-related - indeed he referred to 'getting the (work vs footy) balance right' in Jan/Feb. He also settles the Gawn/Grundy question: rotation through the forward line but not as key scorers; rather, creating situations for scoring (e.g. 'engineered' stoppages?) And JVR: 'keys' picked on 'form' and 'ready to go' and 'structure'. So not a Round 1 lock? Though he then refers to Saints and Tigers (and other) practices, evidently linking them - not just the 'real stuff' - to such decisions.
  4. ...and have a go at a header for this very average demonstration of delivering a ball to a target by our heroes:
  5. (You fell right in there, @dworship!) Waddayareckon, @Demonstone (and @Flaubert), D'Land dividing into the 'Haves' and 'Have nots'?
  6. RIP (somewhat obviously) Denholm Reynholm: Would have been at home herein!😄
  7. So the exorcism is scheduled in for under the tree at Missus Fritta's?
  8. I call impostor! Uncle doesn't stoop to such commonnesses as 'sheila' and 'yap'!! He's been kidnapped!!! Presumably the ransom message will come via this thread. Mods, is the Constabulary tapped in?
  9. Dare I say it, in these 'crazy times' as you call them, Mr Leg: regarding gender identification, this - in the sense of the act of persuading - has taken on a whole new connotation for those wrestling with theirs...
  10. Stepping back in for my strictly rationed dose of No T$ No B$, Mr Leg, I first need to ask, has anyone ever suggested the second 'No' might be misleading advertising? Then, re your post: As if the profession doesn't have enough to deal with, reputation-wise! And look out everyone; I've got spare time on my hands...
  11. He'd be the new 'Flash' though?... (Hi @WalkingCivilWar😊)
  12. Ummm, just checking: do we know for sure that the men weren't present? As to the men's engagement with the women, Ben Brown says hullo, as does Jake Lever of the 'watching the GF' footage. And the footage of much of the team watching the (I think) AFLW6 GF.
  13. He can regain any lost conditioning by lining up in the goal square for a month or so... Cue sound of fullbacks' knees knocking (each other, not Max's back). @Gator, thanks for that. Though I do recall Stephen May came off pretty comfortably with what proved to be somewhat spectacular! (though somewhat short of the leg injury a first glance at your avatar suggested to me!)
  14. @Deebymistake, a discussion of your display name would find a home in the current arc of The No T$ No B$ Thread! On this thread, big 👍update to all contributors.
  15. I agree about the struggle for oppos in that scenario, deev. But it would generally be associated with a bombed entry? Not so much the (D'Land-desired) targeted entry? Is it possible to have - and consistently change/execute - two different entry styles for 2-headed beast mode and 1/0-headed beast mode?
  16. Thanks for the uptake, LDvC; it was a genuine invitation for discussion. Barass and Bucks were two that occurred to me, and you'd be right to include Teddy and Lou with them. However, I feel the three 'oldies' were fairly narrowly 'footy blokes' and showed only parts of themselves - Lou and Ted their humour and knockabout-ness, Ron his seriousness, and all three their quirky passion. Bucks comes closer, prepared to show different, revealing, non-footy, sides of himself - for example, in the few occasions I listened to him with Gerard Whateley - combined with more (expressed) football 'intelligence'. Compared to the others, he may have benefited from the much broader platform modern media gives to individuals, both in reach and in openness. However, fairly or not, he has seemed somewhat divisive and self-interested. Daisy has benefited from the same thing, no doubt, and it has further evolved between Bucks' and her 'times'. AFLW has contributed, encouraging further reach and, particularly, openness. There may also be 'a gender thing', in (generalisation warning!) women's preparedness to be vulnerable, particularly in supportive environments. So, Daisy seems to have everything all the above have, and more, and of equal or better 'quality'. So, I think I'm still searching for peers. More thoughts anyone?
  17. Having now seen the presser, the associated media, and 'Landers reflections in the foregoing, and with my own reflections going back to the first exhibition game, I'm wondering if there has been any player, female or male, who has had Daisy's breadth of all those characteristics that one might group together under 'presence'. Suggestions? I'm not sure many will tick all the boxes...
  18. Noticed how she corrected herself, saying, "close the Melbourne cha... playing chapter" 😊
  19. All of the above re Daisy, and more! Now, no poaching of Anglesea-based Mr Stinear, Dais!
