On 'Talking Footy' just now, discussion of umpires becoming 'full time' revealed many were now already virtually full time, only some have other jobs, and the average(?) umpiring income was $150,000. I guess the discussion about 'professionalism', then, should focus on the use of that 'full' time to become truly 'professional' in performance.

And back to the subject of this thread, and some of the responses to the good-will training reporter/s: 'Nobody expects the Spanish Inquisition!'
