  1. You might choke on 'Quintuple Brownlow Medallist, Nick Daicos', though? Unless, as you say, it's 'Quintuple Brownlow Medallist, Melbourne's Nick Daicos' in his 5 years with us as a free agent post his current contract.
  2. Yep, I think Kade has it! The Cockatoo-Collins brothers offered some hope, but they needed to play in #20 and #21, not their #30 and #31. Charlie Pagnoccolo's 17 letters came closest in his 1 MFC game, in #22. And one final, very famous, name: #14, 1925-32, IVOR WARNE-SMITH.
  3. @Demonstone has kept interested in this - one among, well, one... He's requested the reveal on all your (so, his...) behalfs. My apologies for letting this slip. The total number of letters in the given names and surnames of the players herein equals their playing number. Numbers were introduced in 1912 and BOBBY MONK got #9. He did also wear #5 and #16 over his 125-game career. But he kept the name! @deemoralizing67's unearthing of KADE KOLODJASHNIJ I think provides the highest number (16) there is likely to be!
  4. The fairly up-close-and-personal ABC interview/report suggests nothing about the Club being involved in / responsible for Blaithin's personal challenges and her (temporary) response to them. If anything, the contrary applies?
  5. Notwithstanding the reporter's view, is it possible Sloanehas been appointed as an 'interim' precisely because she is in the running for the coaching job, and that an appointment was required because of Pettyfor's (requested? forced?) return to her position away from the football front line? How relevant is it, also, that Guy is seemingly still in 'feet under the desk' mode?
  6. Anyone else constantly checking on here when there's a new post, expecting something to have actually happened? 😄😩 While I'm here, though, if 'Dorkley' is deemed such a winner, there is large, apparently unused, open space about a kilometre towards the city from it, to the west of Spring Valley Golf Club. Does anyone know its ownership/availability/condition?
  7. They're excited in the Club media team; the 'Kozzy 5 goals' video is posted 3 times!
  8. Shhhh, Farmer; don't let them know about Kane Cornes's in-season Friday opinion pieces. Or that Libby 'I've never tipped Melbourne in my life' Birch is one of their tipsters, albeit notably shaky.
  9. Breeze up a bit now, for what that's worth at this stage...
  10. Not those other beats around the ground, though. Headache inducing!
  11. Welcome back Demon Army btw! Love the sight! And the beat!
  12. Next test: Can they sustain the pace through a full(ish) game?
  13. CJ out on the ground, doing run-throughs, under staffer instruction. Testing?
  14. Shortened quarter (2 min). Heat?
  15. Yeah. The last thing you want in road transport activity is any back ending...
  16. AI, 'Finance' and the transport industry. Fingers crossed. melbournefc.com.auDriversDepot now driving the DeesMelbourne has a new co-principal partner. But welcome, and thanks for your confidence.
  17. ...and Zanker, Cordner and <cough> Birch.
  18. '...will sit out the 2026 season'. Does Blaithin say this literally, Poita, if you were able to get access? Or anyone else? And is there qualification, like 'and definitely only 2026', or 'then we'll see what happens', or 'but it could well be permanent'? If she's like Sinead, at 35, Blaithin, at 26, still has a few more years that she can give two or three or more of to the Dees. I presume the AFL will break its habits to let this happen, and automatically and straightforwardly!
  19. Can't help myself... I've stuck my own head into 'O Week' for the PhD, to find that, in that 1912 list, there is a qualifier: BOBBY MONK. Interestingly, that year he kicked 9 goals in 2 x 9 = 18 games. So much to learn about our Grand Old Club 😊
