  1. And had we made up that less than 1% to get into the middle 6, we would have had a Saints-type draw: Based on 2024 4th - Cats 6th?5th? - Giants 7th - Dogs 10th - Dockers 13th - Saints 18th - Tigers In terms of groupings: 2 from top 6 2 from middle 6 2 from bottom 6
  2. From those in the know, is there anything to be optimistic about with this list as a playing group where our included AFL-listed players can develop and retain, and preferably develop, their capabilities, confidence and ambition?
  3. Pretty rounded view of things, has Jonesy, and coming from a number of good and relevant places into this apparently well-conceived role.
  4. No Greg Stafford's Mornington Peninsula farm, 'where the change began', this time, though. Who, and their property, will step up in Pre-Season 2025?!
  5. Did I get an inkling from something recently (his Dad commenting on the choice?) that the family was prepared to move?
  6. I'll certainly be happy to help, LG. If not annoy...😁
  7. My steel-capped boots, and vigorous application thereof, were appropriately pre-emptive!
  8. No winklepickers, but what I'm lacking in penetration, I'm making up for in repetitions. 🥾🥾🥾🥾🥾🥾🥾
  9. Will clock up 200 this year. That'll be career match-day kilometres approximately enough that'd get him back to Perth. 👏
  10. Couple of things in that report: * It's not 'an oval'; it's a footy, surely! * it's not a setting sun; the shimmering bottom half means it's a rising sun, over the Pacific. Credibility points deductions.
  11. ...and you aren't imagining it! Methinks it is just part of has dastardly clueing! So, fear not, @Lucifers Hero!
  12. Fixture: Fixed? Sure!
  13. And Queensland, it seems.
  14. Couldn't happen to a nicer four teams, travelling early, interstate, 'hot'wards.
  15. Yep, seems like we 'got our man'!
  16. ...and what's the betting for a 5-day turnaround for it, on Easter Thursday...
  17. Here's the interview: https://www.melbournefc.com.au/video/1690667/season-review-maeve-chaplin?videoId=1690667&modal=true&type=video&publishFrom=1731135600001 Interesting that she notes, openly, that, 'we had a game style change half way through the season'. Coaching awareness, flexibility and courage that I hope filters in to the men's program where many on here feel it's needed.
  18. Is NT contracted, and, if so, for how long? I wonder what the new administration's Indigenous engagement appetite is?
  19. You're a traveller, BA? Kudos to you, then, and all the other travellers (special shout-out to The Army). Best wishes for a good travel fixture.
  20. We were less than 1% from finishing 12th, which would have seen us in the middle-six play-twice group with WBulldogs, Carlton, Collingwood, Fremantle and Essendon. At 14th we score Gold Coast, Adelaide, West Coast, North and Richmond. So, looking to the far end of 2025, we might have dodged final-round bullets in Collingwood (again!), Carlton or Freo away. But let me be the first to pessimistically predict we get Adelaide, away...
  21. Cool! Aware of the name but not the music. However, this 60s kid appreciated the riffing on The Shadows in the house party scene! 🤓🎸
  22. Yep. Just add @biggestred's ingredient: Get players in space.
  23. Interesting thoughts here, all posters. Thanks. A well-examined subject over the recent years! Each time I see our talent enumerated in its quality, breadth and depth - as you have here, DeeZ - it makes me realise how important, then, are a coached effective method and player buy-in to that method. Then I realise the frustration that we can only get a sense of the method and buy-in from the players' play (successful or otherwise!) We never know what they're being coached or their willingness to execute it. Retaining competitive edge/s dictates this, as Brad Green confirmed in his review email.
  24. For comparisons for Roo, another animal comes to mind: The Ox. Can someone do a stats comparison of their first 2 or 3 years (allowing, somehow, for the mercurial nature of those years for Schwarz)?
