Apologies if there is a thread for this already, but is anyone else really concerned where the game is going after the 3 week suspensions dished out tonight for Sicily and Mansell? I don’t like Mansell and am pretty ambivalent about Sicily, but I think both are incredibly stiff to get any punishment at all for those incidents. Mansell made a self preservation action at the very last moment to protect himself, and there is no way Sicily should be held responsible for that tackle. Accidents happen and the game seems to be getting itself lost trying to eliminate them.
The game is heading down a slippery slope. Aish has to protect himself in that situation as Mansell did. If Mansell did what Aish did then they both would have been out cold. Sicily is stiff! I believe it warrants a suspension but not 3 weeks

Not sure if it’s just a coincidence but,
Rd 3 I flew down and we won.
Rd 6 I flew down and we won.
Rd 13 I flew down and we won.
A pattern is emerging….
Please ensure you fly down for all finals games

Hence why Schache isn’t getting a game in the seniors, what have we gained letting Weids go?
Schache wasn’t recruited to play every week and is a last resort. Weed was no different, so the club gave him the chance to go play senior footy somewhere else. It’s hardly rocket science

Hi all,
I have 2 level 4 tickets in the Shane Warne Stand that I’m not using tomorrow, so if anyone wants them they are free to a good home. DM me, first in best dressed.

This just went from a possible loss to a probable loss
No Clarry and no Petty for the most important H&A game of the season. Typical rubbish Melbourne luck.
Every team has players out, we have enough depth

Tomlinson?!
I’d sell Tomlinson for a top 10 pick now. It will be lucky to be in the 40’s

Much more pleasing than Rising Star this week was Roo's up the ground movement. Lot to like about his solid play yesterday moving in and out of congestion..

I thought the run home is worth discussing given that we are close to midway through the year. 12 wins gets you into finals and 16 into the top 4. There is an extra game this year so it’ll be interesting whether this effects the required wins to make it into the 8/4. We are are 7-4 meaning there is a bit of work to do. Where do our wins come from. My views below based on current form gets us to 14-9 which ends up being 6-7 territory. There is probably a few more wins in there but I have not the confidence to call em right now.
Geelong are gettable , Adelaide and Lions on our home deck we’d have to have real hot shot… but that is assuming we get our ducks in order. We get Petty and Oliver back after the bye so no excuses.
Melbourne v Carlton - W
Melbourne v Collingwood - L
Geelong Cats v Melbourne - L
Melbourne v GWS Giants - W
St Kilda vs Melbourne - L
Melbourne v Brisbane Lions - L
Melbourne v Adelaide Crows - L
Richmond v Melbourne - W
North Melbourne v Melbourne - W
Carlton v Melbourne - W
Melbourne v Hawthorn - W
Sydney Swans v Melbourne - W
What a Debbie downer outlook.
we smack saints, crows and are a massive shot in all games we play

At 13-12, we’re a middle of the ring team. An accurate reflection I’m afraid. Not worthy of top 4 based on that effort.
Taking numbers over 2 seasons to suit a narrative is complete rubbish. We are 7 and 4, nothing else matters.

I love the narrative around football. Melbourne haven’t beaten anyone, Freo have found form. Freo have beat a completely wounded Swans and Cats

That's not what I wrote and you know it.
Our forward line is still a big work in progress. None of our key forwards have cemented a place. We are yet to play 5 of the top 8, having only won against the Dogs in R1. Beating up on cellar dwellers is fools gold
I want to see how we perform against these top 8 sides before being pleased with our forward set up
I absolutely agree it’s not the finished product and we do need to show it against a top 8 team but at the same time I don’t think a key forward dominating is as important as it use to be. The fact we have so many options makes us very dangerous

How can Christian grade it as high contact if you cannot see the end result in the vision? Just a guess? Staggering. If that is the only vision that exists we should appeal and Christian will look like an absolute goose.
Be a shame for Sparrow to miss a game in front of his family in Adelaide.
They will have vision of it

The vision doesn’t show the full tackle but I’m sure there will be a different angle. If he hits his head then unfortunately it’s a week

Doesnt mean our forward set up is working as best it can.
We haven't played the other teams in the top 4 yet. That stat may change in the next few weeks
So our forward set up has nothing to do with how many goals we kick?

Ben Brown needs to come back in, forward line structure isn’t as good as it could be right now.
We are the highest scoring team in the comp, I think our forward line is working pretty well

What a bunch of ungrateful supporters. Of course we are not going to be at our best against the bottom sides, just bank the win and move on. I love that we can win by 9 goals in 2nd gear.

I think you are getting Rozee confused with Wingard
