Jones would be on 700k, quite possibly Bernie next year too if not already. Hogan will get far more than that soon, McDonald is asking for that much, Viney wouldn't be far off commanding that and Gawn could get that easily in his next contract.

It's not as far fetched as some seem to think. There is a minimum you have to pay of the salary cap.

There is no way Bernie would be on 700k

Gee the Swans do it well. You have to respect how they operate. They identify needs and fill them. Smooth operators and a well run club.

We have no idea if Tom is going to move but gee you'd hope the Dees aren't stupid enough to just let him walk.

Don't get me wrong we will need to be compensated as Toms a RFA (im not 100% on this). And i wouldn't blame Tom.for choosing a club like Sydney.

But depending on the deal (and i really respect our list management and recruiting teams and the great jobs they sre doing. Todd and Josh and everyone are doing a top job) it would really pee me off if Tom left. The AFL and their equilisation are rubbish. Poor clubs just keep rebuilding with picks while the strong stay strong and cherry pick talent to fill needs.

You need to be GWS and have years of forst rounders to rebuild.

If Tom goes then Hoges follows in 2017 i reckon I'll give up AFL. But until then will watch with interest.

    End rant.

PS thanks for sharing Red and blue and its time, and i know nothing is concrete but as a betting man and history i'd put money on Tom leaving at this stage.

He is not a free agent, they will need to trade

4th in the B&F 2 years ago. Knows how to find the ball but decision making & disposal sometimes erratic.

Where is he ? Hasn't played NAB Cup. Hasn't played for Casey. Not on the injury list ????

He has been playing for Casey

    Out: Garlett, Wagner, M. Jones

    In: Terlich, Grimes, Trengove

I kid, the Terlich call is a troll, I'd bring in Grimes, Trengove and Oliver

If Hogan is injured I'd being in Pedo not Weed.

So let's bring in the 3 slowest players on our list for 3 of the quickest

I'll give you two very positives

1 Sam Frost ( will become a sensational rebounding defender in the next year or two.

2 Billy Stretch, I thought his first half very impressive !

    3. We won.  The ladder doesn't say how we won just the fact we get 4 points

When the game was on the line and Lynch marked on the wing, he turned McDonald inside out so easily, Tom was very lucky that it was launched to the square where Watts was waiting. Very stupid by McDonald in that contest, should've just slowed instead of over committing.

The Oscar McDonald attempt at a 3m handpass on the wing, was about as worse an attempt as i have ever seen. Thank god we were still able to push the ball forward.

Yes they were better today than in recent weeks, but they continue to make some unbelievable clangers. Bernie made them look like elite players' today though.

All players make mistakes.  They held their forward line to 2-3 goals. I would say that's a handy day for the backs

I don't reckon this is a factor in selection - otherwise why would Matt Jones ever get a game?

Harmes works his backside off, he's tough as nails, and he's an above average contested mark.  I think so long as he is bringing those aspects, he'll be in.  As much as Harmes really does make me want to cry with his ball use, generally I think Roos accepts a few skill errors when the player is otherwise clearly doing most things right.

I'm yet to see a player dropped this year when they've turned it over a few times when they were otherwise good.  Don't reckon it will start this week.

Even if he didn't hit a target, which I doubt.  He deserves his spot for his mark in the middle of the ground.  It was brilliant

    Kennedy Hogan Watts

    Gawn Tyson N.Jones

    Oliver Newton Brayshaw Vandenburg

Todays team was poor. 7 changes demonstrates how sub standard the performance was.

I passed this on to Patrick Smith for the gibberish of the week award.  If you're lucky you might take out the grand prize

Think Hogan might struggle to get up with his knee. Dawes must go as should Garlett. Think it might be time to try the Weed or Huelett. Maybe Terlich should get a game as a forward. Kennedy and Clarry will also be considered.

Yeah let's play Weed and Hullett against the Hawks, great move

Unbelievable that some of you think TMac is a better defender than Hurley. Have you watched Hurley at all? TMac doesn't have the core strength to be a good 1 on 1 player, and he isn't exactly going to develop it now he isn't a kid anymore.

That's a 1st, Hurley is a better player because of his core strength and T Mac can't develop core strength because is 23.  Let's sack the strength and conditioning team also as they seem to be wasting their time.

Get the pensioner card out I'd say then.  He is 23

Firstly, Hurley is easily a better player than TMac, to think otherwise is just parochial thinking.

Secondly, I didn't necessarily say that is what Hurley was worth, only that that's what the Bombers will demand for him. He is still contracted and despite everyone's wishes there's no way any of the EFC players will just walk on the club as a DFA going through the grievance tribunal. So if we want Hurley we'll need to come up with a top 5/10 pick.

What do you base it on? You are kidding yourself to think he is easily a better player.   T Mac is a better mark, defender and has more speed.  The only thing Hurley has on him is foot skills.

They'll let the great leader that is Chris Dawes redeem himself with another Joe-the-goose goal and then proceed to drop everything kicked to him. But he works hard. All that running after his opponent when they're running off him.

Keep him on the list for next year, but don't play him. Get Pedersen back in or blood someone like Hulett. Or simply play a smaller forwardline.

So you want to drop Dawes but play blokes who have shown average form at VFL level. Great strategy
