Nick is apparently coming back to Aus soon and he has a wealth of knowledge on work ethic and forward craft.
Id be happy with either or
Nick Reiwoldt was a great player but I would not want to see his arrogance anywhere near our club. If we were going to target recently retired players than Selwood would be number 1 and Cotchin number 2. On the experienced side I’d move heaven and earth to get Leppa out of the Pies

Chaplin backs
Yze mids
Stafford forwards & rucks
I believe Stafford got the forwards gig added to his ruck responsibilities in either 20 or 21 when footy departments were slashed as the league adjusted to the impacts of covid on costs & revenues. Can't remember who ran the forwards prior to thatYze 🤣🤣

We recruited well with May, Lever, Lsngrrs and props Tomlinson but not so great since
But some really great draft picks. A very hard call. Depends who is available and hind sight is spectacular and always correct
You have to understand when we recruited those players we had cap space. It’s a lot harder to recruit quality when you have tight cap which we would have had over the few years

We can't and won't put ALL of our half backs into the midfield - apart from anything else, half back is a vital position and good players should be kept there. As for saying the ones I mentioned are fringe players, they are developing players who i hope will have a future.
Houston got torched by Kozzie last week. He may be a good player but he is, i think, 28 and he is not filling a gaping hole in our team.
You can’t have enough good players and Houston absolutely fills a need. We don’t have many elite distributors in our side and he is definitely that. We will be a far better side with Houston in it and not the developing players you mention

Very specifically doesn't say that Houston is having second thoughts or rethinking coming to us, just that our tumble down the ladder and Trac's unhappiness throws a doubt on his preference, I.e. it might make a difference.
Just the media beating something up again.
I saw a PA supporter saying that the starting should be Pickett plus pick 6. There is some really dumb footy supporters out there

If this crosses over other threads so be it. Thought Goodwin's press conference today was simply outstanding. Eloquent, precise, informative and measured. Put to bed any of the media nonsense in a no frills manner. Petracca and Oliver staying. What a surprise! Outlined that all footy clubs have their frustrations, debates and times of angst. It's called human nature. This is not true only in the AFL but all footy clubs in this country. Our mate Tom Morris was back pedalling at a rate of knots and was noticeably quieter throughout proceedings. For those who believed a word this 'person' said well, it's just embarrassing. Finally, the revelations re Clarry were stark. We find now he has been playing with a busted hand, knee and a cracked rib. What an awesome effort from a guy who many said would never play for the club again. To all those people in the media and those on this site who mercilessly got stuck into Oliver hang your collective heads in shame. He is a champion of the club and one of the all time greats in the history of the game. He will be back bigger and better than ever. Once again well done Simon.✔️
💯 agree, it was incredibly positive in light of the stuff going on.

I just hope we don't trade for Houston. We have Bowey, Hore, McVee, AMW , Rivers, Howes, Woey - we don't need another HBF.
Out of left field: Ratagolea? He does some really dumb things but has size, can take a contested mark, and can chop out in the ruck.
You are joking aren’t you? Riv and McVee will play mid next year and the rest you mentioned are fringe players at best and Houston is an A grader

Waterman keen on the Hawks. We appear heading into a period, where we can only attract talent with paying overs and giving long contracts.
Even after our flag, no one wanted to come to us, now we are on the nose.. it’s going to be real hard
Waterman was pretty clear in an interview on the weekend that he won’t be leaving WC

Welcome to Demonland Matthew Jefferson
in Melbourne Demons
I like that they are holding Jeffo back. He seems he has developed nicely this year and then hopefully he is hungry as hell to attack the pre season
