Changes vs Western Bulldogs
The pessimism and carry on about dropping players after such a good win astounds me.

Round 16 Non - MFC Games
This is an increasingly common view.. For me, my anticipation and enjoyment of the game is tempered by my anxiety and anger over the umpiring. Not just because we seem to be on the receiving end, but how this frustration is ruining the enjoyment of the contest. There is the general issue of the umpiring approach on the day, as it seems to vary match by match, but it also comes down to umpiring competency or the lack of it and the avoidance of any common sense. However, the 50 m penalty is doing my head in as it has such a profound impact on the game and mitigates against the enjoyment of two sides battling it out (without whole passages of the game being influenced and stopped by the umpires whistle). .

Now I am accustomed the blame game post match but this takes the blame game to a new level.- Round 16 Non - MFC Games
The umpiring and the 50m penalties being handed out on a platter are just disgraceful, non sensical and ruining the game. The umpires appear clueless and handing out penalties contrary to common sense and fair play. Just disgraceful and a blight on the game.- MATCH PREVIEW AND TEAM SELECTION - Round 16

Wishful thinking, it was said partly in jest- Goodwin Presser (4/7)
Becoming childish. Let it go through to the keeper Lets hope we win on the weekend. If we have a few wins, the bickering will stop.- Cyril Rioli
A great player. One of a group of Hawks champs that contributed to their great success and could turn matches. It is not just the magic goal or mark but the impact on the whole team. He may not have got most possessions or goals but how he did it and when he did it was at times pivotal. He also caused confusion to the opponent with defenders being led a merry dance. His presence gave opportunities to others. Sensible decision to retire. Recent seasons we have seen Cyril drop off due to motivation, injury and fitness. He had definitely lost a yard.- The No T$ No B$ Thread
not sold on the coach or the need for balance ? are you pedantic or a man who knows his mind ?. or maybe I have missed your point completely, something that I do all the time. I read so many posts and I scratch my head in wonder over the depth of analysis and detail. I think well, it cant be that complicated, its only a game of footy. In the good old days, we would go along and watch the game, buy a copy of the Herald post match, read Alf Brown's reports of the game, maybe buy a copy of Sporting Globe, watch Pelaco Inquest or World of Sport (depending on whether you won or lost), listen to one of the doyens of the game, agree or disagree on the 3 votes, and forget about the game until League Teams on Thursday night. Those great men of the game who have gone to footy heaven would shake their skulls in wonder and roll over.the other way.- The No T$ No B$ Thread
Could be a good thing or a bad thing OD. Breathe of fresh air with a person that has no allegiances and doesn't buy into past myths, stories and accepted ways of doing things or someone who comes in to make his mark and creates distraction, disruption and disharmony. However, we know that there is no good outcome without success on the field. And for that we need, top notch players, a top notch team and a top notch coach. . All these things must be in balance.- How to beat Melbourne
Spot on Norm. As they say, its not rocket science. You can see what the problems are by going to a match and by observation. Most Demon watchers don't need statistics and complex analysis to see what is happening. Opposition coaches must love us. We make their job so simple. Its all so bleeding obvious, unfortunately, the solutions are not.- The No T$ No B$ Thread
Can't imagine what the problem could be Febes. Do you? Perhaps they went to the game on Sun. Perhaps they had to spend an embarrassing few hours with expectant sponsors. Perhaps they prefer to be roosters rather than feather dusters. . Perhaps Simon is not talking to them. Perhaps they are actually passionate Demon supporters.- Lewis on AFL360
