What about all those Demon “fans” who have never used a train Could be marketed as a brand new exciting experience. And why get lost trying to find Casey Fields.

Not a bad list. Although all the APS schools have a fair crop of players. Carey, Xavier, Scotch, Haileybury, Wesley, Brighton. In the old days very few came from private schools but that has certainly changed over the past 10-15 years.

Yeah I think he did. Probably on one of those “general excellence” scholarships or his parents knew someone who knew someone. The Old Adelaide network. PAC has produced a lot of AFL footballers, boys from country SA.

PAC is an institution for old Adelaide, but Jordan was probably on a sports scholarship like most talented footballers. So there is hope for him.

That can only matter if you went to that school, otherwise it may be a negative! Yeah, there was Chris Judd

God NO, please may it not be so.

Guess, I just want the impossible dream. A flag soon, and an all powerful MFC dominating the opposition for years to come.

It kind of hurts to have some great young players and be on the cusp of success and then to see Carlton and other clubs suddenly emerge with strong young lists that have so much potential. I already have a brother-in-law Carlton fan who is already up and about. Please, [censored] off John. It would be horrible to see some of these clubs go past us. Enough to commit hari-kari. I know, it is the way it is, equalization and all that.
  9. Thanks. Is Steven May fit ? He is obviously a solid lump of a guy but photos make him look overweight. Solid muscle or chum?
  10. ""He's a good ordinary footballer""
  11. Not really Lucifer. Often think that professional sports bodies appear to be very professional but the reality is often very different. Look no further than AFL, CA, FFA, NRL etc.
  12. good question/point
  13. Have not seen him play, but his highlights look impressive Not overly tall but has good speed, good sideways movement/step, effective foot skills, hard at the ball and opponent.
  14. A couple of other sayings: ""Pair off in threes" ""Players should train under lights so that they can keep warm.""
  15. Nice touch with GD 2. You will definitely live on. And our alter egos will have a drink together at the new Social Club. Along with all the other alter egos who inhabit this remarkable site. Imagine that, all coming out! Although we will need to ensure that the bar has a selection of single malts.
  16. Your body might be in the ground but your spirit soul will live on OD.
  17. DV8, you have my vote. We need imagination and to think big. If we accept next best we have lost the game. We are Melbourne. Our heart is Melbourne. Emotionally, , historically, tradition wise, and our future is Melbourne. Our future is not a facility in the burbs that has no relevance to our history or our future.
  18. we know what you mean, rjay is the mad one.
  19. wow you are unbelievable
  20. My old friend, can you imagine travelling out to Dingley for a single malt. Have you lost your mind ? Unless you think that following the Hawks is the way to go. Its simple, the location has to be central and accessible by car and public transport. It has to be near the MCG or central Melbourne. Like Eddy, you have to think big and not accept the cheap option.
  21. Red, I assume you would be happy if it was in your backyard ? Any options down your way? If not there is a derelict Manor ripe for redevelopment down Romsey way, wherever the hell that may be.
  22. balls your about 53 years too late.
  23. Which will be a pity, out of the way and disconnected for most of us. Set up to fail if it does go down Darklands way..
  24. Also, East Melbourne residents and many others are concerned about the increasing loss of public land, particularly park land. These days, many want parkland for passive recreation rather than ovals and other sports facilities. This view extends out into the burbs.Councils and town planners talk about passive recreation being more important than sports facilities. Rightly, they are cynical of any promises made by politicians and vested interests and see any proposal as the thin end of the wedge. Its not just what it starts out as, but what it ends up being, together with the flow-on consequences. With Yarra Park, there has been an increase of games and other events at the MCG during the day, evening and night. When the light towers went up, the residents only expected to have to put up with Friday night games and occasional other night games. At the time, there was strong opposition to the light towers from residents and community groups and they felt that assurances from Government and the MCC at the time turned out to be false and misleading. There is also general community concern about the encroachment of buildings and facilities on public land. Look no further than Royal Park, Albert Park, Olympic Park and Flinders Park.

Mrs Leg and Mrs OD would be impressed. Different tastes perhaps.
