Goodwin signs on until end of 2022
Now that is well reasoned Jim. And I think I would concur on the 4 years.

Goodwin signs on until end of 2022
Its an interesting one. Remember that its only half a season ago that there were more critics than supporters and even the media were asking questions. Goodwin's improved status came on the back of half a dozen games. Cycles and perception of performance are a constantly moving feast and the critics will be back in a flash if team performance is below expectations or Goody's game plan is superseded by new game plans ? Based on those half dozen games do you reward Goodwin with a long term contract such as 6 years or go for a more conservative period of 3 or 4 years and maybe throw in the option to renew at the end of that period ? Perhaps Goodwin himself may prefer a shorter contract ? Its unlikely but possible. Is it possible that the Demons could go off the rails or simply not make the improvement everyone is now predicting. Particularly given that many believe that anything short of a flag will be a fail. What happens if Goodwin himself has some sort of crisis and a replacement needs to be found ? Giving him a long term contract such as 5 or 6 years would be a vote of confidence and provide stability. At the same time, a long term contract may encourage other members of his coaching panel to ply their trade elsewhere with more opportunities. Is the coaching panel hiding a potential top-line coach? Long term contracts will not stop dissatisfaction and rumours (both inside and outside the club) if the Dees performance tails off. What happens if the President and the Board changes or there is a falling out between President/Board and Goodwin a la Norm Smith? You have to be very happy with a coach or any employee to offer a long term contract. The are many variables and things are in a constant state of flux. You have to be happy to the point of not having any doubts that he is the right guy. Are we sure he is the right guy and will you still feel the same way if expectations are not met in 2019?

I can see her in the dressing room handing the towels to the boys as they get out of the ice bath. See how they react and how she performs.

Wow what a manifesto, you seem to have summed up all your ""alternative"" views over the years. Now I fully understand your core beliefs. Pity they are not in common with a progressive or even stagnant society. But they should get you a gig in the Senate or Legislative Council in the future. Although I thought BBO would have been worthy of mention but I suppose his presence has become irrelevant.

Nice touch with GD 2. You will definitely live on. And our alter egos will have a drink together at the new Social Club. Along with all the other alter egos who inhabit this remarkable site. Imagine that, all coming out! Although we will need to ensure that the bar has a selection of single malts.

DV8, you have my vote. We need imagination and to think big. If we accept next best we have lost the game. We are Melbourne. Our heart is Melbourne. Emotionally, , historically, tradition wise, and our future is Melbourne. Our future is not a facility in the burbs that has no relevance to our history or our future.

My old friend, can you imagine travelling out to Dingley for a single malt. Have you lost your mind ? Unless you think that following the Hawks is the way to go. Its simple, the location has to be central and accessible by car and public transport. It has to be near the MCG or central Melbourne. Like Eddy, you have to think big and not accept the cheap option.

Red, I assume you would be happy if it was in your backyard ? Any options down your way? If not there is a derelict Manor ripe for redevelopment down Romsey way, wherever the hell that may be.

Which will be a pity, out of the way and disconnected for most of us. Set up to fail if it does go down Darklands way..

Also, East Melbourne residents and many others are concerned about the increasing loss of public land, particularly park land. These days, many want parkland for passive recreation rather than ovals and other sports facilities. This view extends out into the burbs.Councils and town planners talk about passive recreation being more important than sports facilities. Rightly, they are cynical of any promises made by politicians and vested interests and see any proposal as the thin end of the wedge. Its not just what it starts out as, but what it ends up being, together with the flow-on consequences. With Yarra Park, there has been an increase of games and other events at the MCG during the day, evening and night. When the light towers went up, the residents only expected to have to put up with Friday night games and occasional other night games. At the time, there was strong opposition to the light towers from residents and community groups and they felt that assurances from Government and the MCC at the time turned out to be false and misleading. There is also general community concern about the encroachment of buildings and facilities on public land. Look no further than Royal Park, Albert Park, Olympic Park and Flinders Park.

WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - BRAYDON PREUSS
But training is about impressing the coach, even Under 10s. When I went to training, I always wanted to impress the coach, and if he was watching i went even harder at the ball or the guy with the ball.
