The Pick 1 Thread
Because we are essentially sliding pick 11 back to 15 but receiving pick 3. I guess it depends if we want to go all in on 1 or have two picks within 20, one of them essentially being pick 4.

Harrison Petty
Petty has two years to run on his contract and has not said he wants to leave. If we do this trade we are essentially saying we don't think we can win the flag anymore, that is how important Petty is to our team structure. Our key position depth is already weak, moving him on would be disastrous for that.

I could see a 3 way trade with North & WCE happening. Melb Give: pick 6, pick 11 and future first. Melb Receive: Pick 3, pick 15 & future 2nd (WCE) North Give: pick 3 & pick 15 North Receive: Pick 1 WCE Give: Pick 1 & future 2nd round WCE Receive: Pick 6, pick 11 & future first (Melb) Maybe North give their future second to Eagles also, but that seems a pretty fair deal to me.

Welcome to Demonland: Pick 11
I think we have two plans: Plan 1: Package it up for pick 1 and take Harley Reid, Kynan Brown and then potentially trade in an experienced player. Plan 2: If no trade is possible for Reid we will take two top 15 picks and K Brown.

Geez, they are like the weird ex who just won't leave you alone. Let it go Adelaide.

Welcome to Demonland: Pick 11
I think we plan to take 3 picks to the draft (including the one for Brown), so I imagine we are trying to get two top 10 picks if possible.

Welcome to Demonland: Pick 11
I'm guessing the chance that Gus is forced to retire and who knows whether Oliver will be in a mental space to play next season..... I have no doubt we plan to take a mid with our first pick though either way.

Please Kane just stop talking Imagine a sliding doors scenario: 1. We hold onto him for two years. He kicks 50-60 goals both years and we win back to back flags. He leaves after 2025 and we get a bit less than this year. 2. We trade him for those picks. We get some decent developing kids and finish top 4 the next two years but can't quite get the job done. Your aim in football is to win premierships, not get the most draft picks for your contracted players.

I wouldn't be surprised if we do a swap with Geelong to move 11 up to 8 as well. If North do a swap with the Eagles it is actually a good thing for us, as it means one of Sanders, Watson or Duursma is likely to slide to our pick as the Eagles will take Curtin. If this happened I would be very happy with a draft of Sanders, O'Sullivan and Brown.

Any word on Angus?
The AFL legal counsel was inept during that hearing, one has to think on purpose. It was all a publicity stunt to make it look like they AFL care about head knocks and to try point to it for future litigation. Was actually blindingly obvious and it would be nice if someone in the media had a modicum of integrity and went at them for it.

Not really if they think he's that much better than anyone else. Those picks were created out of thin air for them, so hypothetically they are trading 3 for 1.

Impossible to compare Euro football to AFL due to this fact. I much prefer our setup, as any club can win a premiership if they get their list management right. You cannot say the same for 90% of teams over there who are really just trying to stay in the league they are in.

Given how many picks the Roos have it's hard to seeing us beating them for pick 1, unless they choose not to go for it. I do think however we may be involved in a 3 way pick swap to get us up to pick 3 and gain access to Duursma

Farewell James Harmes
Not sure whether I should take anything from this, but haven't seen one story from MFC players on Insta regarding this.... May just be they are all on holiday and different timezone, but usually they are all sharing with their farewells...

Farewell Brodie Grundy
They will need two 2nd round picks, so maybe something like: Grundy and pick 27 to swans for Roos future 2nd round + pick 46 I'd do that personally
