The Pick 1 Thread
You can do it in the NBA and I wouldn't mind it in AFL with some potential safeguards in place. This would be the perfect example of how it could work, if the trade was agreed prior on the proviso that Curtin got through to pick 6. Reid and Curtin would be aware and it would be completely above board.

I think that's way better. At worst that is probably pick 2 and pick 4.

The 2023 Draft and Trade Targets Thread
Gil on the phone *I won't have my last trade period turn into a non-event. Give me trades, trades and more trades. I'm offering a $500k bonus to the first side to trade a 1top 10 bnf player.

They were very strange interviews tbh and maybe he was caught off guard a little

2023 List and Contract Details
If we do want Billings today then surely we delist Kye Turner and move Melksham to the rookie list? That would then give us 3 list spots for the draft, is that correct?

Harrison Petty
This is not homesickness.... this is a club throwing money around and then naturally the player seeing dollar signs. Adelaide probably won't have the same money next season, so hold him and see what happens. We can even hold him for 2025 and by that stage Port may also be interested if he genuienly wants to leave.

Strong desire..... he never even requested a trade?

Well Kane, seeing as you have JVR as one player ready to explode next year I'm thinking yes.

The Pick 1 Thread
Interestingly, whoever we take with our first pick may change how we setup for 2024. I know when we draft it is more for the longer term, but given the quality of players available it may well change our setup. Harley Reid - he would likely play 70% forward first year and we can move Trac back into the midfield more. Ryley Sanders - he is probably ready to go through the midfield so perhaps we leave Trac forward more and even use Brayshaw off half back again at times. Dan Curtin - he could probably slot into a half back role quite easily and mean Rivers can potentially be released further up the ground.

Why Melbourne Must Hire a Coach to Solve Their Forward Woes
I'm all for moving Stafford on for a genuine forward coach. Have heard him and Goody are close mates though so probably unlikely.

Trade Rumours 2023
Given Grundy was essentially out of our best side by the end of the year, we actually haven't lost any of our best 22 players. We've lost a fair amount of depth, however we will gain two top 15 players in the draft and a fair chance one is Sanders or Curtin who will be ready to go straight away you would think. I would've loved us to pick up a gun key forward, but if there are none available then no point overpaying for someone you don't really rate i.e Mabior Chol or Jacob Koschitzke.

Jack Gunston
If I was Hawhtorn I'd be saying thanks but no thanks... not sure why they would need him back

Any word on Angus?
Just saw something from Sam Edmund saying medically Gus is ok and plans to complete pre-season as normal. Did anyone else hear this?

Harrison Petty
Tim Lamb said this morning that Harrison will 100% be at Melbourne next year..... wonder how many more tweets we will see from Cornes and Theo Doropolous though

The Pick 1 Thread
North probably have to give up more and it was just a quick thought. I think the Eagles will want multiple first round picks if they are giving up pick 1, which is why I think it will take a multi club deal.
