  1. The mrp has been significantly better this year. So many rubbish inconsistent calls last year.

Brisbane should appeal and get May off. I didn't see much wrong with his bump, the fact a player us injured does dictate the punishment for me

I still don't like this 3 down to 2 early plea BS. If it's a two offence, it's 2 weeks. That's it. Call it like it is

  2. Mackenzie getting a gig over Toumpas last round, then being made sub and not even tagging Fyfe the entire game, is one of the most perplexing decisions made by this coaching regime (It also speaks volumes about where Jimmy is rated by the coach.)

What possible purpose did Jordie serve EXCEPT perform a hard tag on Fyfe? He proved, again, his disposal will never be AFL standard (and he should've had fresher legs than anyone else playing at that point!) and adds very little value on the field.

What I think Roosey is thinking is that Toumpas' development is the most important thing at the moment. It was telling that he wasnt even named in the emergencies - and Stretch was. I reckon they are giving him 8-10 weeks at vfl and if he can start dominating week in week out, he will get in the ones and stay there.

So then the question is, who was playing better than Mckenzie at casey? riley, jones? . much of a muchness

  3. Obviously not. does it have to be one extreme or the other? Couldn't he have just said they'll miss the next two, against the emerging teams, but it will still be a challenge for them (the emerging teams), it's just the way he Sid it, like he takes pleasure in the little digs. And he always tips against us.

You can be loyal and appear neutral in the media, it just takes a bit of charm. Look at Eddie- does it all and is always Collingwood through and through, even when they're at their worst.

I wouldn't expect stuie to understand

Yep, no-one as neutral in the media as Eddie. Far out.

possibly the biased and conflicted man in sport!

  4. Good to see Toump not considered. He needs to properly develop all parts if his game at vfl level. Once his confidence and hardness increase and he is dominating games, he will be back in

Pederson will make the 22 I reckon.

Ps check out freos extended bench. Would mind having that sort of depth. I have a feel sandi will be a late withdrawal for Hannath

  5. with Frost out I dont think he can be replaced with a non-agile tall. So I wouldnt consider Pedo or Gawn to replace him.

A midfielder comes in for me. give us more run agaonst the tiges. Michie is the most in form midfielder but he does seem like a slow insider midfielder

With a tall fwd out, id have Watts and Vanderberg playing more fwd than wing and also Howe playing more fwd

  6. Yes, he did. You don't react that quickly unless you know what you are trying to do.

I have seen players in my own team know that they cannot 'win' a contest through a mark so they leave their body in, attempt to keep their feet and react quicker to effect the situation in their own way. I would have done the traditional attempt - smash in, and hope I don't get injured, give away a free and that my teammates are close by.

Watts is soft. Why haven't we gotten our heads around this?

We know this. Roos knows this and yet he still plays, and he still plays because footy allows all different types of players on that field and the way we continually expect more than we know Watts can deliver is a form of madness. Good footy teams have a balance of all different types of players and skill sets and Watts has AFL level ability with his skills, vision, forward IQ, and aerobic running ability.

And again, we are not talking about hypotheticals here - his 'soft display' led to a Hogan goal. He knew exactly what he was doing, which I think is what is so infuriating for some of us.

well put. I am not sure what we are arguing about. Surely we all know Watts is soft by now? Thats not meant to be harsh - he is an outside skillful player and doesnt naturally go in hard to get the ball as his strengths are on the outside. IMO you can get away with a couple of these types of players once they deliver in other areas.

Watts will never be Hogan or Viney. just like youll never see Hogan or Viney do the sublime skillful stuff Watts does.

  7. Totally disagree. They'll touch us up both times.

Collingwood are going to be the flat track bullies of 2015.

They'll beat up on the rubbish sides and be found wanting against the good sides (like Adelaide last week)

They'll be licking their lips when they play us as they'll know they be able to get an easy kill against inferior opposition.

They'll finish an irrelevant 10th-12th this year.

We can only dream of such as irrelevant ladder position. Maybe next year

  8. Yeah you guys are correct. Dawes is the reason we got smashed in the midfield on Saturday. (Sarcasm)

Do we need a scapegoat each week? He wasn't great but only 3 players can really hold their heads up after that loss. Give him the chance that others are getting
