  1. Welcome aboard Steven! Great that you will be with us in a few weeks. And thanks to Greeny for doing a very solid job as a novice.
  2. Agree this rule has potential to be a shambles at AFL level. 1 minute left in the game, a team kicks in down the line to a 1-1 contest. The defender would be crazy to not shepperd the ball out of bounds (if possible) and get the free kick to win the game And those saying this rule change will stop the bad insufficient intent calls are wrong as they will still be there inside 50 which are the most painful ones
  3. I believe change is stating that a shrug will be the prior opportunity
  4. That sounds good and agree this is the intent. But Aussie Rules has a history of implementing a rule that makes sense in theory but is extremely hard to officiate leading to more frustrating free kicks. If it is as described in the OP, if a player is tackled, he tries to shrug it and the tackle sticks, it will be a free kick. So players may have to be advised to take the tackle. Takes a fair bit away from the contest of the game.
  5. So a bloke is tackled and it’s in his best interest to not try to break the tackle? just stand there like a dead fish? Some of these changes are good but this is terrible. Viney will cost us 5 frees a game
  6. Thanks for that, great insights So the PA and CBA doesn't help players in this instance, just denies them access to the club, coaches and facilities while they do the running portion of preseason. Also makes it harder to keep tabs on the players that are likely to go off the rails without structure.
  7. True, but I reckon 3 months is too long away from the club. Must be hard for the players to maintain fitness without coaches and being at the club The PA should concentrate on fixing issues like clubs delisting players and rehiring them on the rookie list. My company can't sack permanent employees and rehire them as contractors (sorta similar example)
  8. 3 months off seems like a lot Would have been good to get a good 6 week block of training in before christmas. The season starts earlier every year so only 2 months and a bit post xmas to get a preseason in
  9. In what universe is Collingwood's list stronger than the Giants? Talent wise, it is not even close And the bombers better list than ours? Good grief!
  10. It all comes down to how JT rates the top 10 (obviously) If the player expected to go at pick 3 is rated a future star and twice and promising as the player expected to go at pick 8, then of course we will package picks to move up the order But JTs ranking may be different to general opinion and pick 7 and 8 will still have the players he as targetted
  11. 192cm and already a solid frame Looks like he make an immediate impact Also not from WA which is a plus
  12. Robey-Wan Kenobi The force is strong with this one
  13. what you talkin bout???
  14. thanks for correcting that moron 😂
  15. It is interesting where to play him. It's all about maximum impact Imo - Centre Bounces and then play him fwd of the ball and in space as much as possible. A kick or a handball off the pack I honestly think his best is ahead of him and he could kick 60 goals one season and still average 20 touches and go close in the brownlow. King, Chaps, Whelan and Co need to keep the environment strong that keeps him happy but he doesn't seem a prima donna to me.
  16. By the end of his contract, if Kozzi keeps up his games and goals to date he will have ~315 games and 560 goals (very rough calcs as 21 games per year/ 38 goals) We are witnessing potentially one of our best ever and we might not realise it until much later That would make him second on our all time goal kickers list And for those that say he will play midfield so won't score, he averaged his highest goals this season at 2 per game Sure he could get injured or move clubs but I am attempting a positive thread. (Wish me luck, tell my wife I love her!)
  17. I’ll admit I thought this was a strange call But i’m thinking this could be an excellent trade. Got a quality mid and leader for nothing. He polled 46 brownlow votes over 2 years so clearly has talent along with his grunt Love Langford and co learning off Steele and Viney rather than Clarry or Trac
  18. Heath Hore Zanker Hanks Macca Rigoni (first goal ever)
  19. some posters on here will start them up every time Clarry etc have a good game. eg Jordon, Bedford style can’t believe we let Hogan leave 🙄
  20. Mr and Mrs Fish Why did you name your daughter Zippy?
  21. Since quarter time the Demons have been unbelievably good! Running so hard for each other Shelly Heath playing a cracking game
  22. Yelled GO HORE!! when she kicked her goal got a scary look from the wife
  23. Great to see some F/Ss coming through
  24. Taylor will have his favourite 3-4 players from the top dozen and he they are going to go top 4, I wouldn't be surprised if try to package picks to get Richmond's pick 4 I don't care about points or pick value once we get the players we want
  25. Too soon for another Oliver
