I find it amusing that some on here and the socials think that if you believe Maynard should get suspended you haven’t laced up a boot….

Maynard had a right to protect himself, protect himself from what?

A player running full tilt and kicking the footy is basically unprotected.

But hold on, it was a natural action to turn side on….

If you are about to collide with something or fall or be attacked the natural human position is to raise your arms.

If Maynard kept his his arms in front they both might fall to the ground but both would get up and walk away.

Having said that he’ll either get off or only cop a week.

Suspend Brayshaw for bringing the game into disrepute!

Because it was their home game.

There should be no home games in finals. You get the home ground advantage, but beyond that it should be neutral.

I hate all this pre and during game entertainment anyway. It is loud, obnoxious and completely irritating.

Please some music at a normal level, call out the players names pre-game (I do like that because it gets the crowd going), and just leave us in peace during breaks.

The “entertainment” noise was so loud that you cannot have a conversation with the person next to you.I hate it. And it happens at our home games saw well.

Underweight key forward who does not have senior level running ability plays every game of the year (the most of any player in the VFL) and struggles in a final where his team is pummeled.

Is that the issue? Am I getting that right?

I think people significantly undervalue the difference between a professional AFL environment and schoolboy football, and the toll that takes on your body over a long season. This is particularly true for a player that was nowhere near senior running ability when he came to the club and the amount of stress that his body will be going through to adapt to the changes in workload. You could see in previous games that he was running on fumes at the end of a long season, as you can for a few other young players.

Thank you .Spot on.Bring on 2024.

Well...... I'm a big Jeffo fan, for a lot of reasons which if I can say I know he will do!

1 He has already put on a bit of weight. Give him another preseason and he will put on another 5 Ks

2 He might be quiet BUT BOY does he take everything in.. He will be analysing coaching, and getting used to a full time Footy gig.. BUT don't take his demeanour of slightly introverted at all, he is a deep thinker

3 I've seen him live only twice this year ( But have done my PF Trade Mark training reports)  and he is working well. Having said that I watched him closely at a windswept Casey a few weeks ago and have this to say

a It wasn't a great day for forwards but he kept presenting and was ignored

b I saw him PUT HIS BODY on the line on many occasions and in doing so created a ground ball possibility

c I saw him held of the ball 5 times for which if it were AFL , He would have been given Free Kicks, but umpiring at that level is like watching pre school teachers trying to articulate who dropped the most crumbs during morning tea!

d He took a spectacular mark ( contested and goaled)

e He does put himself in dangerous positions

f He is for the most part a deadly accurate kick!

So there is my rationale, I beleive he will make it and he will be a DEES Favourite for a long time.

    My Take P.F

I have seen him a couple of times this year.He didn’t star but did a couple of things that showed promise. As a famous man once said “l like the boy”. Give him a bit of time.

  5. Nic was on a footy show on Thursday night that l don’t normally watch. He said that he was one of the top draft pick and thought he was going to be selected by Melbourne. But we picked J Watts. He was glad because he got to stay on Perth with the Eagles.I wonder what would have happened if We picked him first?

We've been a bit unlucky with injuries for the taller forward options. Injuries haven't really been spread out too much in the squad.  Some trading/drafting to help this in 2024 and another pre-season in options like Jeffo and Sestan will help.

Its funny myself and a few others at the start of the season were posting about nursing Melksham to 100 games with us but he has been an important player this season.

Melky is an intelligent, skilful player.Kee playing him.

Have watched this goal replay many a time. Still sends shivers down my spine. Will always have a soft spot for Hannan, he seemed like a great guy too. Best of luck to him and hopefully the injury is not career ending.

I was at that game and sitting on the side of the ground where that camera was filming. Mitch kicked an incredible goal  - one of the best l have ever seen.Hope he recovers and plays on.

Agreed, he is a talent almost ready to settle into a more dynamic midfield role - from which Tracca will be re-allocated to the forward line (most of the time). I rue the moment that Bedford left as he was potentially potent and would not like to see JJ move elsewhere now that he is tasting his role in a series of successful games, and adjusting to his role, accordingly. FFS, he is a cog in what many observers see as the best midfield going. He's not a Clarrie, he's not a Tracca but he is better, by far, than what most other teams are fronting and maintaining. He's a learner and already is becoming a regular.

    Yes - thank you
