Binman questions Saty's conversation with Jack.Does Binman go to training as often as Saty does - if at all?I met Saty at training a month ago and he does talk to the players. If Jack was lying surely Saty would be able to tell by his tone of voice and body language?

Oops , l meant Mitch Hannan.
-
Mitch Hannah kicks with both feet - beautifully. ( but not at the same time! )

I was there most of the time and agree with the previous comments. I had the pleasure of chatting with Saty for the first time.A very friendly gentleman indeed. We were watching the rehab group and he asked me what is Hannan's preferred foot. I think it's his right but he kicks equally as well with his left. It's hard to tell. A good pick up.It was really hot but they trained really hard.

Jeffy Garlett, the bargain of the century!

Nasher could you lease explain what Malthouse didn't like about Jeffy's attitude? And one of the things I like about him is that he is so casual when he kicks a goal - he doesn't seem to have an ego. -
Imagine that the current coaching panel leave the club over the next two years.Could we form a new panel made up of 'recent' ex-players who are currently coaching at other clubs?I believe the following blokes are coaching : Yze, Miller, Green, Rivers, Bruce, Woewodin and Cross. What would be the roles for these blokes if we got them all together? Is one of these ex-players capable of being The Coach?

I spoke to him today at training and he said he had a scan this morning - everything fine. But he only trained for a short time.

Cryptic Message on MFC Social Media - New MFC Logo
Dingo replied to Good Times Grimes's topic in Melbourne Demons
Don't like it because it must include '1858' - our history. -
I have been reading all your posts for a couple of years but rarely contribute. But today I feel the need.Last year I opined that Max had a great future in front of him.I was right! My son plays for the Ormond footy club. On the Saturday before we beat Geelong Max was watching Ormond .He did play for Ormond so he drops down occasionally. At 1/4 time I walked onto the ground to the players' huddle - and Max was just behind me.So I couldn't resist the chance to say "Well done Max you're playing good footee-keep at it".He smiled and held up his hands as if marking a ball and said " I've just got to learn to take a few of these".Then he went down to Geelong and the rest is history! I believe that I helped Max feel more confident about himself and turned his career around!!!Go Max ( and yes,he is big when up close)

Neale was ar traing this morning. He was standing, watching training and adressed the players in a huddle in the middle of the ground. There were gufffaws of laughter! He talked to the fans, especially the senior females whom he adressed as "love".And they loved it as he posed for photos with them and signed autographs. You would not have known he is ill.By the way, why was he called The Reverend?I forget. And why did the club dispense with hie services?I reckon he was a terrific coach.

YES it is Jack Viney and Jones punching on!I was standing right behind them and they were going hell for leather!Hells bells.

Was there for an hour.Good to see Max running laps.

THANKS for this photo. It is uplifting to see The Rev and his flock of followers.A great coach!

This was a great interview with The Wiz.It brought back great memories and I was at the 'G when we smashed the Pies and Farmer kicked 9 goals AND 1 point. He only played in the 2nd half! When I got back to my car I had a parking fine for about $100 ! But I sort of laughed it off , because that was the price for watching the Wiz's genius. We should fly him over each year and sit him down with the players and watch his highlights - that should fire the boys up!
-
No we talked about footy! But Roy was a farmer who used to grow rye.

My mate and I were at the game yesterday and sat next to an old man.He was sitting at the end of the row of seats so he had to stand up to let us through.I cheekily said ' hurry up, we want to see the game."He replied " if I was younger I would give you a good hip and shoulder!"I had my Demon scarf and hat on but he didn't, so as i was sitting right next to him I asked who he barracked for."Melbourne" he saidThis is good, I thought.Anyway as the players warmed up we exchanged comments about various players. Then he (we still hadn't exchanged names !) said he hoped we were going to win because it had taken him 5 hours to get to the game!He had travelled down from Kerang on the bus and the train. This man's name is Roy.He said don't tell me I'm crazy because everybody else has! And it turns out he is 85. Roy was hoping we were going to win because he wanted to sing the club song at the end of the game.( so did my mate and I!) Well we lost didn't we ? But think of the long trip home for Roy.After the game he was going to have a feed and a couple of beers ( he wouldn't have one at the game as he would have to go to the toilet ) and then go home on the train and the bus.He would get home at 10 pm.On ya Roy, a really nice bloke.

In the latest Weekly Review - Bayside , there is an article by Peter Wilmoth about Roos taking up the coaching job.In it Paul says that when he took over , he found that "we weren't playing AFL football,so its been a big,big jump to get to where we are now.....There are minimum standards required to play AFL football and our guys weren't even at the minimum standard. We've probably just arrived at that point now."This is brief exerpt from a two page article that has positive things to say about his time at the club.I find this surprising, because I thought that the previous coaching regime would at least have had the players at the minimum standard. It seems that Mr Roos has a different definition of "minimum"!Probably explains why we are playing better football. ( the Weekly Review is basically a real estate magazine, that is delivered with the junk mail )

Is my memory correct about Dean Bailey switching Dunn to the backline , and that this was one piece of "evidence" that we were " tanking"? If so,is Roos tanking, and as a result we will be charged again?!
-
I am not happy with some of the negative comments about Max Gawn's game. However I will agree he didn't do anything fantastic today. But we were playing the top team so their backline is pretty good. But didn't he kick our first goal? This seems to be omitted in some people's criticisms. And I reckon he played a pretty respectful game last week against the Tiges .How about that ruck tap out to Bernie Vince - who kicked a goal! Max has lost a lot of game time over the years due to injuries - two knee recos mainly. And this year I think he injured his hammy which has kept him off the pre- season training track.Give Max time - and support - because I think he will be a Champion Player for us in the future.Go Max!
