  1. They are not as different as you think, Db. Hence the relevance of this debate. You are aware, no doubt, of the wars the US has perpetrated since WW2? Allow me to list some of them: Korea, Vietnam, Grenada, Panama, Cambodia, Cuba, Lebanon, Bay of Pigs, Laos 1953, their part in the IRanian Coup 1953, Dominican Republic, Lebanon 1981, Libya, Syria, Afghanistan, Iraq, First Gulf War, arming IRaq and Iran pre first Gulf war, arming Saudi Arabia to rape Yemen, Sudan...We won't even mention the coups by stealth in Chile, Columbia, Puerto Rica, Venezuela, Honduras, Bolivia etc In other words, this notion which is a direct descendant of the notion of White Supremacy, a notion inherited from the British, that it has the right to wage war and interfere in any country it chooses to. I believe it is the reason the US is such a basket case - simply because from day one of its history it has lied to itself and to the world about what it stands for.
  2. I have real problems with anyone who thinks a racist mass murderer is great. Unless you mean, he was a great racist mass murderer.
  3. So? That excuses him from sending thousands of Australians to a useless death??????????????????????Yes sir, Rear Admiral, I'm just following orders.
  4. Your question should be, Why did Churchill have the power to send thousands of Australians to be slaughtered in a British Colonial War???????
  5. Absolute racist rubbish! The track record of the Brits is one of the 'hidden secrets', mostly because we are still yolked to them by the anachronism called the Monarchy. Read Churchill's narrative about the Indians, the IRaqis, the Sudanese...
  6. I had serious reply, but if any 'Australian History buff' wants to talk about 're-written by morons' with a straight face, it is surely at their own peril. I thought you were better than that Biff. I was wrong...
  7. Biff Let's be equally clear. Whether they were convicts or stowaways, is not the point. They were sent here by the British Government as an act of appropriation of the sub- continent called Australia so that no other country could take it over. Also, unless they were very good swimmers, their only option was to come by boat. Secondly, White Australia was neither Labor nor Liberal not National. It erupted from the innate prejudices of Europeans who settled in the goldfields. Turdly, to raise semantics about the definition of 'boat people' ignores the great claim of Abbot and Scumbag Morrison that they stopped the Boats. Fourthly, we are definitely not a communist country: for once you are not playing tricks with me. I fail to see how this is relevant though. You skipped Fifthly because you probably got it mixed up with Filthy, so we'll go to Sixthly: There is this fiction that the British Government wanted the natives to be unharmed and protected. Sure. That's why they shot so many. They protected them so much that many died of disease. And there is this nebulous shadow between the 'word' and the 'deed'. Most of all, your notion of what happened, totally ignores the simple fact that the Brits felt they had a god given right to dispossess the native people of Australia. Once again, your mention of 'communism' is out of context here: perhaps it goes back to the days when your Parish Priest brainwashed you every Sunday morning about the Red Peril. God only knows... Oh, that perhaps I am an id''t is probably indisputable - Dostoevsky, after all, wrote a book about me - however I have never been an '[censored] of communism'. Where did you get that silly idea? Are you drinking a reliable brand of methylated spirits?
  8. As I wrote in one of my previous posts, racism is a universal phenomenon. We live in a country founded exclusively on white privilege, that's what we have to live with and deal with. We also have a very, very long way to go as a nation before we can look ourselves in the mirror and admit that the treatment of our indigenous people was and largely still is shameful, and a situation which needs to be urgently addressed. The fact that it's 2021 and we're still learning how not to deal with it is an indictment of how little headway we've really made.
  9. BIt short on key defenders, when you examine it closely. Vince was a better ball user than Moloney, far more 'finessed.'
  10. I had him in the original 22...Then I remembered Woewodin...
  11. That's just arrant nonsense: Goodes was booed because he wouldn't play the passive Aboriginal game, because he raised his hand and said enough is enough, because he was brave enough to simply be himself. The bottom line is that Australia was founded by a Racist White Supremacist country called Britain, and it has always behaved accordingly. It only stopped practicing the White Australia Policy less than 50 years ago, and it's policies against so called Boats are an extension of that mind-set.
  12. What 'contradictory evidence' are you referring to? You sound as vague as Trump about an election he supposedly won by simply using the term 'Election Fraud' as evidence. A CFC commissioned enquiry found the CFC shall we say negligent in its duty of care to its players with regard to Racism. What's your so-called evidence to the contrary?
  13. Then why are you cranking out all of this stuff which most people interpret as unadulterated latent racism?
  14. "Ever since I went public in 2017 with my experience, I've been consistent in saying that I initially went along with the nickname and a lot of other racist behaviour in order to fit in," he tweeted. "The document is proof that the nickname did indeed exist and was widely known in the club. "Some people are trying to use it as a means to discredit me, without realising that it's damning evidence that works against CFC and the AFL.' Says it all, P2J: you and the Cranky are peas from the same pod, in other words, you just don't get how racism works. I'd hate to have to have anything to do with people like you on a day to day basis.

  16. Because I'm psycho(cic) the thought crossed my mind this arvo that Hannan playing a full year wid de dogs was Buckleys.
  17. I think he still doesn't really understand what this is all about. For the record, I am loathe to condemn him; there but for the grace of whoever, I may have been there too. He just happened to become the president of a club which exists in the time warp where only white men rule. It is symbolic, though, and kind of befitting that it was at Victoria Park that Nicky Winmar stood up for his history and his culture, a history and culture which we, at our peril, still know not that much about. There's also a kind of Karma about all this. Eddie, for all of his positive attributes, is trapped in his time warp, yet understands that he needs to 'spin' his way out of it, E.G.' It's a proud day for our club'. Then again, he may have been taking lessons on 'Spin' from Scomeo. Like I say, he doesn't get it. He possibly never will. There are many here among us who feel the same way he does. I'm not one of them!
  18. Yeah, sure, and watching the Dalai Lama being fed to the crocodiles imported from Florida for prime time viewing. NO??? In the meantime, what is the difference between tundra and tuna? Serious question. Think about it.
  19. ER, for the record, I came to this country in 1956 as a 6 year old from Germany. The abuse I suffered was physical and mental. It was obviously racist abuse. Because I was so desperate to 'fit in' the racial insults became a part of my life. When I was thirty five, my best friend was a Jewish dude called Sam. He liked a drink. He'd turn up at my flat in Alma Road and tell me how bad he felt that the only place in East St Kilda he could get a drink was at a Nazi's house. Then he'd borrow my Primo Levi books. At least he returned them.
  20. Trust you to regurgitate this vile bulldust from a man who is, shall we say, not without sin?
  21. My station, just for the record, is the whaleway station, where they weigh whales.
  22. I don't mean to offend coppers: some of my best friends are policemen and women. Surely, though, you've noticed how often when they're being interviewed some of them use 'big words' when a simple word would have hit the nail on the head. That's all. As for 'had I used 'politician' instead of cop, yes, that's a given. But politicians just lie and obfuscate. Anyway, like I say, no offence meant to the Copper Species, I love the work they do for us.
  23. This is a reflection of Clarkson's penchant for gobbledygook, where he says a lot and none of it has any substance. What is 'standards in this sport of space'? (Clarko missed his calling, he would have been a great cop, you've heard them on the radio, seen them on the TV, the ones who 'talk' above their station, using big words when plain simple language says it way better. ) In this case, he should have switched off his capacity to explore the boundaries of linguistic comprehension and perhaps say nothing: much more eloquence there.
