Farewell James Harmes
Thanks for giving your all, Harmesy, and especially the folkloric moment you captured and bottled for MFC to have forever. Best of luck

Maynard must get at least four weeks
AFL did not argue that it was a bump, so bump provision doesn't apply. He's gonna get off 🤦♂️

Surely the response to the biomechanist's evidence is that he was therefore either premeditating the action or just careless in his duty of care, as graded.

Goody has been mind-melting the competition all year, just hope he gets the balance right between experimenting and having team cohesion. I think he's been great. If we go deep I reckon his preferred setup will be Grundy in, Petty back and, sadly, Tommo to miss. If it does happen that Grundy doesn't make it back, well at least we took the second best ruckman in the comp out of the comp.

POSTGAME: Rd 18 vs Brisbane
Had to go to a wedding in DE that was (appropriately) a German catholic / expat saints supporters affair. Listened to the 3rd qtr on the radio while riding my bike to the train station and watched the last qtr on the train on my phone, headphones in, making incomprehensible gestures amidst confused Dutch commuters. Floated through the wedding weekend in a crowd littered with farmers, doctors and tigers supporters. There was one Dockers fan who had only recently learned what their first pick this year will be. Re the game: live I felt so bereft in the 3rd qtr and the miraculous nature of the comeback. On replay, however, it was just a really even tussle. Even when they were right on top we still managed to stay with them. Woey Jnr's goal and Maxy's ROOST came against the flow of play but defied the Lions managing to grab the game by the throat. When that moment came, it was our leaders of the now and leaders of the future that got a grasp. The media narrative is already that we stole it, or 'how did Brisbane lose?'. Pish. We were as dominant as they were for periods and more so when it mattered. Go you beautiful Dees ❤️💙

Gawn Main Ruck, Grundy Up Forward?
Maybe, but my memory is that there were a lot of questions about our forward line throughout the season

POSTGAME: Rd 15 vs Geelong
Thought it was a good contest. We looked cooked in the last and it effected skill. Credit to Geelong for winning, credit to the umpires for their consistency (consistently terrible) and credit to GMHBA (whatever that is) for sticking their/its name on a dung heap. I can't imagine we'll have to play there again next year 😑 Edit: I really hope Jeremy Cameron is alright

Will you BOO Luke Jackson this weekend?
I'm sure this has been said, but would be far classier to thank him (which we never got to do) for his part in what I assume is one of the best things all of us have ever experienced? If I was there Id be applauding him to counter the boos. Better to demonstrate to all our players (past, present and future) that once a Demon, always a Demon.
