Must win next 2 if we are going to secure a double chance

Massive danger game IMO tomorrow... Port are 7-3 over their last 10 & played some good footy. Neutral venue is a tick for them... We just need to get the win tomorrow by any means necessary, drop tomorrow & we are in real strife for top 4! I'm a big believer in needing to time your run as we did last year, no point playing your best footy now as Geelong are. Problem is we may be coming from a long way back & need to produce & sustain our best a little earlier & for longer than expected if we have any speed bumps between now & September.

Agreed, Gawn isn’t a natural forward hence he’s leading patterns are not great. Quiet often you will see him float forward & just stay stagnant & stick his hands in the air & gesture to get it into him to which he is just a sitting duck waiting to get picked off. I would be interested to see his ruck/forward % this year vs last year & also over the past month where suggestions he was carrying a niggle. We also miss Tmac massively, his ability to work up the ground & create space inside 50 is highly underrated, he also has great leading patterns & leads up at the kicker which gives the kicker confidence to lower their eyes & hit him up. Weid is the opposite to this so how we structure our forward line post bye is going to be very interesting.

Call me crazy but I think the loss of Gawn may actually help our forward line connection... Many times he is flying for the mark with Brown & Fritsch and he invites our long bombing inside 50... As strange as it may be his absence may be the catalyst to fixing our forward entries & connection.

What at absolute [censored]-up by Atlanta. Go chips all in on Watson & then it blows up in their face. Treated their greatest & most loyal player in franchise history with complete disrespect, I know the salary cap relief from moving on Ryan was a huge benefit but the way this played out was so so poor. Then to top it all off they sign Marcus [censored] Mariota lol! They will be lucky to win a game next season, their roster is absolutely cooked. They clearly recognise this & have already written next year off... The current depth chart is actually embarrassing to look at. Good luck to Ryan, hope there is a cinderella story like his great mate Matthew Stafford!

I'm confused with what the go is now... If my family & I have general admission memberships can we just get there early on the night & get seats in the GA area or do we need to pre book tickets ?

Awesome stuff Gorg! Both teams winning their respective Premiership & Championships in the same season, what dreams are made of!

Definitely, Dan Quinn was fired midway through last year & Arthur Smith has taken over with the 7-9 record first year not too bad but they weren't overly impressive this year. Interesting with GB, like you said earlier it's lazy that people just expect that because of Rodgers the Packers should be playing off jn SB's every year. You've always stated the issues with the Packers which Rodgers covers up with his talent alone.

Very true, I feel sometimes he outsmarts himself or can be a bit overzealous with his play calling... I was a big fan of his time in Atlanta, the offense that year was unreal.
-
Agreed Brady was phenomenal in that 2nd half, the Atlanta defence that year was average, the offense run by Shanahan papered over the cracks, they had no way of stopping Brady. The thing that eats away at me is we could have taken a knee at the absolute worst, kicked a FG & would be SB champs instead Shanahan decides to throw the ball cop a sack & then a holding penalty on 3rd & forever. The irony in watching his run game in situations like yesterday frustrate the [censored] out of me, I guess he lived & learnt. The offense has never really reached great heights since then, the lose of Shanahan was huge & they just haven't seemed to be able to click again. The defence is starting to rebuild but we missed our boat, it's time to start preparing post Matt Ryan imo.

From my perspective I think the choking tag is more around the fact the Packers continually make the playoffs but can never get through the to SB. Every year you can put them down for divisional round or conference championship but they can never seem to go the next step or two & with a QB like Rodgers at the helm I think many people expect more from them. * Yes my side blew a 28-3 lead in a SB & no I will never get over it... That was one of the greatest chokes in sporting history.

Thanks as always for the tipping comp Macca! Family life & work has made it difficult for me to follow the NFL the past couple of seasons anywhere near the level I used to but the tipping comp keeps me engaged just enough! Bring on the post season - This is where I do my best work 😉

Yeah I like that idea Macca! I'm getting in early before I forget this week's... Cowboys Saints Seahawks

Not sure if it's been mentioned on here but the RSN interview with Goodwin last Friday was magnificent. He opened up & let a few things out, the one that stuck with me was this; During the pre season the coaches were down the beach together having a few beers when one of them said they could sing their own version of "This Is Me" from The Greatest Showman, Goodwin said as funny as it was he saw a deeper meaning to it & used that as our theme during the year. So much so they played the song during the warm up of the prelim final & all the players & coaches broke out signing the song together.. Great insight to him & the playing group, I recommend having a listen! https://player.whooshkaa.com/shows/rsn-breakfast-club
