MELBOURNE Pick 3 Luke Jackson declared to foxfooty.com.au at the draft combine that he wanted to play Round 1. But considering his preferred position (ruck) and the fact a dual All-Australian (Max Gawn) has worked so well as the solo ruckman in recent years, it’s hard to see him getting an opening-round debut against the Eagles. Same goes for Kysaiah Pickett, who has a sensational highlights package but is very raw — and likely to still be very raw by Round 1. But Melbourne’s Round 1 bolter could be its Pick 32 Trent Rivers, whose kicking and decision-making during his draft year was outstanding. The Dees need some class in defence and across the wing — and Rivers has the potential to provide that immediately.

My query that you quoted referred to Kade Kolodjashnij but I'm curious to know why Jones hasn't been at training over the past two sessions.

I wonder what the ailment is? Is it concussion related or soft tissue?

That was my observations regarding Langdon too. He's not the most accurate kick but got a lot of the ball on the wing, is quick and often kicked to a player running into space.

Yeah noticed that the other day. A full preseason and a bit of luck is just what he needs.

Jackson was wearing #17 the other day but according to his Instagram he may be #6. Rivers' Instagram has #24 but he was wearing #20 the other day. Stay tuned ...

Signing will be dependent on individual training schedules and not all players may be available. Getting to Gosch's Paddock Public transport Gosch's Paddock is located a short walk from Richmond train station. Jolimont station is also located a 10 minute walk away. Tram route 70 also stops near the ground at AAMI Park (stop 7D). Tram route 48 and 75 are also located in the vicinity near Jolimont Station. Bus 246 (Latrobe Uni - Elsternwick Station) travels down Punt Road, stops at the corner of Olympic Blvd. From here patrons can walk to Gosch's Paddock. Read more about public transport here. Jason said that Jackson was the first player they interviewed back in February. Safe to say they have been into him for a long time.

Thanks to everyone who submitted questions. We couldn't use them all due to time constraints but appreciate the team effort. I'll post the show shortly.

He didn't mention any names but did mention that he was starting the interview process of a few players. We didn't press him because his mobile connection was breaking up at the end and we had limited time.
