  1. Melbourne 11.11.77 defeated Sydney Swans 7.14.56 at the SCG in Round 24, 2023. It was a massive team effort in a dead rubber for the Demons against a side that had a lot to fight for in their last home game for the year. The midfield starred, Bayley Fritsch managed five goals in his return from injury after giving us all a bit of a fright and Jake Melksham cruelly suffered an ACL injury that ended his season of resurgence. This was the club’s most recent victory (leaving aside this week’s scratch match vs Carlton which doesn’t count). Ironically, two players not selected by Melbourne for this game, Brodie Grundy and James Jordan are almost certain starters for the Swans next Thursday. SYDNEY SWANS B T. McCartin D. Rampe H. 8. Also that first clip was from the 88 Elimination Final not the Semi Final as stated on the Podcast. We lost to the Eagles in 90 and 91 in Semi Finals at Waverly. Johnson didn't play in the 90s finals series which was his last season.
  9. How good were long handballs. They're a forgotten art of the game. Rarely see them anymore.
  10. In Round 3 we play Port Adelaide on Saturday night 30th March and then play Adelaide the following week in Gather Round on the Thursday night (4th April) off a 5 day break to the Crows 6 day break with a trip back from Perth. You'd have to think we will stay in Adelaide given the short turn around. We would be crazy not to with all that traveling back and forth especially with the 5 day break in between. Our match the next week in Round 5 is also a Thursday night (11th April) against Brisbane before we get a bye leading into a Wednesday night ANZAC eve game on 24th April.
