We discussed this on the podcast last night. Hawthorn players took paycuts to keep an already winning premiership team together and to bolster it. We haven't had that success yet. Heck we haven't made a final since 2006. Until we have some success, and it doesn't even have to be premiership success, then the notion of sacrificing to keep the band together isn't there. If we can't make finals (not saying we won't) then what band are they trying to keep together. The lure to join a hit making band might be stronger.- Distance Runners and Speedsters
I'm no rocket scientist but I imagine the technology does not require a straight line to record speed. Perhaps one of Demonland's resident rocket scientists can weigh in on this.- A good word for our co-captain
I mentioned on the podcast last night that I had been remiss in mentioning Jonesy the past few weeks. I think it always goes without saying that he gives 120% every time he steps on the field. I love this bloke. Bleeds Red and Blue and my dream is to see him lift the cup up one day. Car washes for life if it comes to fruition.- Tom McDonald Contract Talks
I think it's telling that we aren't seeing any articles, facebook/twitter posts from news outlets/journos linking TMac (even fake news slow news day ones) with other clubs. I'll spew if I see a facebook post with a bad photoshop job of TMac in a Collingwood or North jumper.- Distance Runners and Speedsters
I was surprised by the GPS data but I don't think it's an error. That makes sense.- Distance Runners and Speedsters

That's why I was pleasantly surprise to see him in our top 3 speedsters. Add to that his size. He is 195cm and nearly 100kg.- Distance Runners and Speedsters
It's no surprise that Alex Neal Bullen is at the head of the list for distance but I was floored to see Jesse listed as our 3rd fastest considering he is also one of our largest distance runners. Team distance: 2613.1 km Distance kings 1. Alex Neal-Bullen 15.3km 2. Oscar McDonald 13.9 3. Josh Wagner 13.9 No surprises that Alex Neal-Bullen is ranked so highly in this area, with the hard-working half-forward one of the best endurance athletes at the club. In round four against Hawthorn, Neal-Bullen clocked 17.2km – the 11th-highest recorded distance ever. Speedsters 1. Jayden Hunt 34.2km/h 2. Jeff Garlett 34.2 3. Jesse Hogan 34.1 Hunt is one of the fastest players on Melbourne's list and in the entire AFL. It's impressive to see Hogan in third place and perhaps gives a pointer to his athleticism and why the Demons have been so keen to play him further up the ground this season. - Ben Guthrie http://www.afl.com.au/news/2018-05-23/running-men-keeping-track-of-your-clubs-speedsters Could Oscar really be getting such high numbers at full back? ?- Shaun Smith's Concussion Issues on Open Mike
