  1. MELBOURNE As it stands: 30,891 2018 haul: 44,275 (record) If you werenโ€™t already excited by what Melbourne achieved in 2018, then their work during the trade period should have provided another boost. They added star defender Steven May to a backline that will include Jake Lever at some point next year, along with 2013 Pick 5 Kade Kolodjashnij and ruck security in Braydon Preuss. And then they have one of, if not the best engine rooms in the AFL.
  2. POTENTIAL VFL CURTAIN RAISERS Sandringham v Box Hill Hawks Marvel Stadium, Sunday April 14 (before St Kilda v Hawthorn) Essendon v Geelong MCG, Sunday May 5 (before Geelong v Essendon) Box Hill Hawks v Footscray MCG, Sunday May 12 (before Hawthorn v GWS) Sandringham v Northern Blues Marvel Stadium, Sunday May 26 (before St Kilda v Carlton) Northern Blues v Footscray Marvel Stadium, Saturday June 15 (before Carlton v Western Bulldogs) Footscray v Collingwood Marvel Stadium, Sunday June 23 (before Western Bulldogs v Collingwood) Collingwood v North Melbourne Marvel Stadium, Sunday June 29 (before Collingwood v North Melbourne) Geelong v Sandringham GMHBA Stadium, Saturday July 13 (before Geelong v St Kilda) Footscray v Casey Demons Marvel Stadium, Sunday July 14 (before Western Bulldogs v Melbourne) Geelong v North Melbourne GMHBA Stadium, Saturday August 10 (before Geelong v North Melbourne) Richmond v Northern Blues MCG Sunday August 11 (before Richmond v Carlton) Box Hill Hawks v Northern Blues Marvel Stadium Sunday August 18 (before Hawthorn v Gold Coast)
  3. Missed opportunity to play the Casey Round 18 game against Richmond as the curtain raiser to our Round 20 night match against Richmond at the G.
  4. The Casey Fixture came out today and Casey are playing the Bulldogs on the same day as our game against the Bulldogs with the venue as TBC @ 11:40am. Round 15: Sunday July 14, Footscray, Away @ TBC, 11:40am It's a safe bet that this will be a curtain raiser to our game at Marvel Stadium.
  5. The article mentions it also happening at Marvel with the Bulldogs likely to be involved so it's possible that we'll at least get to see Casey play then.
  6. Hopefully Ch 7 and the AFL are testing the waters and if successful we'll get more.
  7. Now everyone one just sits in their seats and stares at their phones. I'm guilty as charged.
  8. Against us they do. Jesse never seemed to get the same treatment but I could be seeing the games through one eye.
  9. Seems like most games will finish an hour before the Dees game so you'll need to get there early to even catch the tail end or even miss the end watching on TV when you have to leave to get to the G.
  10. Under the new rule are they allowed to restrict arm movement?
  11. None of the preseason Wednesday sessions have been listed on the site this year as they are classified as Closed Sessions. That hasn't stopped some sneaky posters finding away to report on them. I'll start a thread later and hopefully one of our intrepid spies manages to gain access.
  12. Demons website has him at 193cm. http://www.melbournefc.com.au/player-profile/steven-may Google search of Steven May height had him at 190cm. Perhaps taken from the Gold Coast website which no longer has him on the Players list.
  13. My pleasure. Thank you for your generous contribution.
  14. Thanks to @EMDE and @daisycutter for assisting me with this.
  15. If the Preuss experiment works Austin will have his work cut out for him.
  16. I'm convinced that plan A is for him to start as a forward relieving Maxy in the ruck. Hopefully it works because it will definitely benefit both TMac and Weid's games as well as Maxys and going a long way to mitigating the loss of Jesse.
  17. I didn't realise that the club deployed the drone for training analysis. I thought the marketing/social media department used it for promotion/web content.
  18. This post was sponsored by OPSM.
  19. Well Preuss is a ruckman so he is obviously Taller. Preuss is going to be very hard for oppositions to match up on when down forward. Preuss is 2.06cm May is 1.90cm
  20. Any changes to the rehab group? Gus still there? Hannan present?
  21. Thanks for the report @Satyriconhome When I was at training a few Fridays ago I was looking for the camera on the pole. I noticed the guy behind the goals on the freeway side of the ground with the computer and the joystick but couldn't locate the camera or see a drone in the air. Would be interesting to know how in depth they are with reviewing the training footage and whether they use it to in meetings with players to improve their craft or training standards.
