2018 Player Reviews: # 10 Angus Brayshaw
COMING OF AGE After a delayed start to the season caused by an operation to remove his wisdom teeth, Angus Brayshaw rose from a the ranks at Casey, returned to the Melbourne team in Round 4 and lifted his game to such an elite level that he finished third in the Brownlow Medal. Brayshaw was outstanding throughout the season amassing high disposal numbers in the Demon midfield and played a major role in his team’s rise into the finals. ... in any event, now that AVB has signed, the incentive for a trade has gone.

I'd be touted as a number 1 Draft pick based on my 17 seconds of highlights.- Demonland Podcast Featuring Peter Jackson (17/10)

I just want him to stay so I don't have to update the banner or podcast logo.- Farewell Jesse Hogan
Can we please dispense with reacting to comments you don't agree with by calling the poster an idiot or similar.- Farewell Jesse Hogan
I did give both of the choices for us to get used to. We either accept that Freo aren't going to sell the farm for Hogan or we keep Hogan and go through another year of speculation and then possibly lose him for less next year.- Farewell Jesse Hogan
I just cannot see us getting this despite us all wanting this. Freo will not give us this particularly with Lobb in their sights. If we don't budge on this point then I think Freo will take their chances next year going head to head with the Eagles. We're going to have to get used to either taking a first rounder and a player/later pick or Jesse staying for the year and then leaving us next year when we'll get less.- 2018 Player Reviews: # 12 Dom Tyson

That's not correct. Channel 7 only reported that Freo had missed out on Jesse. I have no idea where that CH 7 got that story. No mention of failed medicals. The Facebook page above reported on the CH 7 report an added in their own commentary about the failed medical without saying it was their own opinion leading people to falsely believe that CH 7 had also reported that. Those two "stories:" merged into a single narrative that spread without any corroboration.- Farewell Jesse Hogan
Sadly it's par for the course these days with the 24 hour media cycle and everyone wanting to be the first to report it. There is no such thing as verification anymore.- Farewell Jesse Hogan
I believe the failed medical/mental issues were a result of this Facebook page reporting it last night as fact. They have since deleted the original post and posted this explanation.- WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - BRAYDON PREUSS

- 2018 Player Reviews: # 11 Max Gawn
MAX THE MAGNIFICENT The 26-year-old regained the mantle of the competition’s premier ruckman when he won All-Australian honours for the second time in three years. He also won the AFL Coaches’ Association Champion Player of the Year Award and the Melbourne Football Club’s Keith ‘Bluey’ Truscott Memorial Trophy. His season’s tally of 1,119 is the AFL record for hit outs. Week in, week out, Maxy was instrumental in his team’s dominance of clearances at the stoppages that took it all the way to the Preliminary Final Round. IRON DOM Tyson had a mixed season and found himself out of the main midfield set up and, on one or two occasions, out of the senior team. He put in some excellent displays on a wing in the lead up to the finals and overcame a fractured forearm in the final round to play in all three of the club’s finals. Looks to be bound for another club in the trades as early as today. CLARRIE The 21-year-old Oliver finished second in the Keith ‘Bluey’ Truscott Memorial Trophy and though that was one rung below his 2017 placing, Oliver was no less prolific amassing 734 disposals (with a season high 40 in the Round 18 loss to Geelong) and also earning the number one ranking in the AFL for contested possessions (405). Oliver also received All Australian honours for the first time. It’s hard to believe that the youngster has played only 60 games.
