Who?

A total guess, but I reckon he means Cale Morton.

HA! Well done. Yes I meant Cale.

Morton; go easy on him, he's just a boy playing a mans game, and he's doing fine.

Absolutely. When I said I was disappointed, I meant disappointed for myself that I didn't get to see what everyone was talking about. I said quiet game, only because that was what it was. I think he probably still played really well for someone so raw, and compare to other first, second and third gamers, he was certainly a long way from being a bad player... Which puts Jamar's effort in a different light.

What skill level. Its an absolute joke. The only skill they seem to have is to consistently manage to find a teammate who is under pressure to handball to. Gee what a talent.

Yes. The skill level was dreadful. But what was it like in weeks gone by? Would it be fair to say it was worse?

The skill level yesterday was an improvement. Not a huge one, and they were still worse than my grandma, but it was still an improvement...

So what should Bailey say? We were atrocious. Our skills are awful.... No. He MUST say something positive where possible, without sugarcoating. And I reckon that's what he did. Rounds 1-4 we had the skills of a VFL seconds side. Now we have the skills of a crappy VFL firsts side.

Not sure DD, can't really see how Sunday was an improvement on anything.....we really were flattered big time by the final result.......junk time goals don't equal an improvement for mine. And junk time started super early on yesterday.

We were no better against Carlton than any other game this year.

IMO the only difference in our 5 games has been the varying quality of the opposition, or in Geelong's case, the hunger/focus of the opposition.

I thought Wonna and Chip were terrific, always good to get some game time into Rivers and Bartram. Brock persevered. Colin showed some glimpses (as he does). That's about it.

POSITIVES :

Green : Let's see if he can play games like that on a consistant baises. He doesn't play like that enough, time to start.

Woneaemirri : Is a real find he has skills and is hard at it which is a rarity at this club.

McLean: Unfortunately the only time he doesn't get tagged is when he is on a gun like Judd. If we are looking to the future he must be made captain, Bruce is the present it would be a bad move to make him captain. McLean desperately needs help.

Frawley : Showed he could play he also used the ball pretty well for someone who supposedly can't.

Sylvia: Finally Bailey done something right I'd been calling for that move since last year hopefully he will persist with him.

Rivers: Played well again thank god he's in our back line.

NEGATIVES:

Carroll: Got bathed again like he gets every week. We must look to the future and look to Frawley, Garland and Martin.

Moloney: Not smart enough, fit enough or quick enough for AFL level. His disposal is terrible and his aggression always has a negative impact on the team. He is a poor man's Phil Read if his career isn't over then it should be. The most disasterous trade in modern history come back Scotty Thompson.

Bruce : His terrible shot for goal cost us dearly not as much as Moloney's moment of madness but for a player who wants to be captain simply not good enough.

Jamar : He is just a big goose can't see him at the club next year.

Robertson: Played better but KEEP YOUR [censored] FEET FOR CHRIST SAKE.

Whelan: Played well until he got injured again. If he gets injured again this year then it may be the end of the line for him. His report was a joke. The umpires payed some of the softest decisions your ever likely to see usually to Carlton.

At 3 Q time we had kicked 4 goals against supposedly the weakest defence in the Competition. There were no positives. i know its harsh but it is the truth.

Long cold couple of years ahead for all of us

I cant believe nobody mentioned Wheatley as a negative. He has had a great year but in the 2nd qtr he had a oppurtunity to dive/ smother/ take out a Carlton player in the square yet he shirked and let him kick the goal. Was really [censored] poor and weak.

  • AFLW PREVIEW: Western Bulldogs

The Dogs reigned supreme in 2018 with an inaugural AFLW premiership cup and the Demons matched this feat by winning the cup as the Season 7 2022 champions.Meggs wasn’t born when the Doggies won their first VFL premiership cup against the Demons in 1954. Covid prevented many Demons fans from legally witnessing the victorious 2021 AFL Grand Final cup performance between the Demons and the Bulldogs, but we all grin when remembering those magnificent seven third quarter goals.

  • PREVIEW: Hawthorn

Hawthorn and Melbourne. Two teams with impressive form from last week but with seasons that are travelling on different trajectories meet in Saturday’s twilight game for what could well be the most intriguing contest of the AFL’s penultimate round. Sadly, the game has been relegated to that unappealing time slot in the weekend when Melburnians are typically preoccupied with activities other than football. It falls between the morning's shopping, afternoon sport and recreation, and Saturday night fever. A time usually reserved for relatively insignificant events but this one is not a nothingburger for either of the clubs or their fans.

  • REPORT: Western Bulldogs

The next coach of the Melbourne Football Club faces the challenge of teaching his players how to win games against all comers. At times during this tumultuous season, that task has seemed daunting, made more so in light of the surprise news last week of the sacking of premiership coach Simon Goodwin. However, there were also some positive signs from yesterday’s match against the Western Bulldogs that the challenge may not be as difficult as one might think. The two sides presented a genuine football spectacle, featuring pulsating competitive play with eight lead changes throughout the afternoon, in a display befitting a finals match. The result could have gone either way and in the end, it came down to which team could produce the most desperate of acts to provide a winning result. It was the Bulldogs who had their season on the line that won out by a six point margin that fitted the game and the effort of both sides.

  • CASEY: Brisbane

The rain had been falling heavily in south east Queensland when the match began at Springfield, west of Brisbane. The teams exchanged early goals and then the Casey Demons proceeded like a house on fire in the penultimate game of the VFL season against a strong opponent in the Brisbane Lions. Sparked by strong play around the ground by seasoned players in Charlie Spargo and Jack Billings, a strong effort from Bailey Laurie and promising work from youngsters in Kynan Brown and  Koltyn Tholstrup, the Demons with multiple goal kickers firing, raced to a 27 point lead late in the opening stanza. A highlight was a wonderful goal from Laurie who brilliantly sidestepped two opponents and kicked beautifully from 45 metres out.
