Neitz is out

Holland is gone

Yze is gone

Whelan will miss a week

I think its time to bight the bullet this week and play the young bloods...if we cant beat what i thought was the worst side in the AFL, what can we do?

i know they are deciding all this in round 6 but i think it is time

Not fully, if we were you would have Buckley, Maric in for sure and possibly Warnock and others, we have a few in and thats good and this week there was more in.

Aren't we doing this?

neitz, wheatley, whelan, white, robertson, bruce, green??

yze, holland still on the list?

buckley/pettard/valenti/weeta/marric/cheney/martin waiting on the sidelines?

Whelan won't get a week for that...

KEEP FRAWLEY IN THE TEAM ALL YEAR!!! we need him to develop and the guy has the skill-set to become a great Fullback. no fullback does well in his first 2 seasons...we need to get 50 games into this kid to fast track him.

Also Bate must have recovered by now. get him in.

Id also like to see Maric, Martin and Buckley play atleast 10 more games- as well as Newton if he gets interested

We can't do that, it's tanking!

haha...i know your joking but i think losing to carlton just proves that with an almost fully fit and up and running side we cant beat the best

i am completely against tanking but i think we will have more chance of winning games by playing the youngens

Yes this is true...but Bruce Wheatly and Green are middle aged are in good form, Robo is a neccesity (usually), whelan is needed, White is our best ruckman for a country mile, Neitz is our captain.

Holland=Depth (also isn't playing)

Yze, isn't playing so technically is making room for young guns.

Buckly, Pettard and maybe Marric will be pushing for selection this week

Valenti is a rookie

Weetra had his chance for the moment (is heading to a similar path CJ is on)

Cheney and Martin (especially) need to develop there game and confidence before they crack into the side

NOW remember this only round 5 i expect that most of these guys should be playing or have played after Round 10

KEEP FRAWLEY IN THE TEAM ALL YEAR!!!

Frawley did some nice things and HE CAN HIT A TARGET OMG!

I felt so sorry for him when he outplayed Fevola only for Fevola to kick a miracle goal off the ground. Poor kid.

He has to stay in the side without a doubt. Reminds me a bit of Rivers with some of his spoils.

Assuming that come Round 7 we drop Robbo & Neita, and bring in a wooden log to replace Mark Jamar, which other senior player would you get rid of in order to play the likes of Buckley and Maric?

All that's left is Junior, Bruce, Green and Wheatley. Maybe White, but only if PJ and Meesen are both fit.

We pretty much are playing a large chuck of young players, some are struggling (Moloney comes to mind), other need more time (Morton), while the rest just really need some help from the senior players (McLean and Jones getting polaxed at every centre bounce).

...

i know, i see where you are coming from but my mentioning of yze was that he was holding off valenti because he is still on the list dissalowing any rookie to be promoted

one of green and bruce could have been traded a couple of years ago for a pick

robertson is not a necessity

white is our best ruckman but we have the fact that he will most likely retire at the end of this year...we still have three other ruckmen regardless of how good they are (possibly a 4th coming through)

whelan is great but what he did today was NOT smart and yes it showed toughness and this and that BUT it gave more momentum to the blues aswell as an easy goal

neitz should have retired and handed over the captaincy, and now that he is injured, should retire and work with mahoney as forward coach

In regard to Whealen, that is the softest report i've seen in years. He will not miss any weeks for that. Jamar has good hands always misses those shots in front of goal. Sylvia also can't kick in front of goal too. Green must stay up forward!

"mclean outplayed judd today"

But judd was more effective with his disposals. And kicked 3 goals.

McLean was very good today against a much faster opponent, but to expect a 21 year old and a 19 year old to hold their own at every single bounce against bigger and more exprienced players is just crazy.

Three weeks ago supporters were calling for McLean to be traded, because oh no he can't win every single clearance on his own.

Our ruckmen don't even use their big bodies to sheppard the other players off the ball (mostly because our ruckmen are terrible). Eventually both McLean and Jones will get sick of being on the bottom of every single pack. Even one big strong body in there would help. Junior tries hard but he's on his last leg. The rest of the midfielders are simply not contested ball winners.

As much as I like to be positive (check my other posts) but Judd was awesome today... so clean with the ball and many, many clearances.... Brock was good, but Judd is another class..... Judd is a lot more damaging 26 posessions (most of them effective) and 3 goals

We're being thumped week after week...the downside of playing youth is they'd get demoralised.

I don't have any answers. We're stuck with untried youth, and huge number of soon-to-be-retired [or delisted] old'uns.

But I'd do it...a tight group of young fellas who share a common experience beginning from the 'dark days' of 07 - 08 ... it could be character-building.

robertson is not a necessity

By that i meant because with Neitz out he is our main forward and we desperatly need him this week with saying that he is not when he is lazy and just wants 2 take specky's then he is not needed in our 22.

Robbo needs to show his past goal kicking form (2005/2006?)

carn the dees, i do think that we're on a similar page

but i pose the question, with

SLYVIA MILLER BATE

DAVEY GREEN AUSSIE

could we do without green and neitz? im not sure...it would be interesting

I do like this forward line for the future, we could add Newton in there to free up one of the potential midfielders in there (everyone except Miller) this would also straighten it up with a key player.

SYLVIA MILLER BATE

AUSSIE NEWTON MARIC with green and davey rotating with sylvia and bate. This forward could be post Neitz and Robbo but i do take into consideration of Morton etc.

For next week and the rest of the year i think Robbo and Neitz (after injury) will play most of the year in the forward. Neitz will retire before they drop him and Robbo i've already stated.

I think we can go on without Neitz and robbo (i think who u meant 2 say) but it will take some adjusting and some big lifts from some people.

Well this has been Debating at its best!! For once this year i feel almost happy at Demonland so i think i should leave before im sucked in by critism and sensationalists!!

Judd = 23

Nick Stevens = 29/30 and overweight

the rest of Carlton's onballers are as young, if not younger than Melbourne's (ie Bryce Gibbs, Marc Murphy etc)

Time to put Ben Cousins on the target list for next year- three more good years left in him - he is better than Judd and see what Judd did for the other players last week & today when he lifted.

The Demons’ aggressive small forward who kicks goals and defends the Demons’ ball in the forward arc.
