Players who the game has passed on by....

No.1 David Neitz

Maybe, sadly. but my No. 1 is Yze. Time he did the right thing by the club, and retire (without being paid out), and give someone on the rookie list a chance.

Chris Johnson.

Doesn't say much about your list when a 22 year old has no idea how to play a game of football.

No.1 David Neitz

I am scared I have to agree. I appreciate all he has given for the club and enjoyed watching him play. Ove rthe last few weeks I have been a little embarrassed for him. I hope I am wrong. I saw no point in him playing on because we are a long way off a premiership. Might as well have Newton learning the tempo if the game. On saying all this, I do not want to see Neiter in Sandy's team.

He (and Sylvia) got an absolute spray after last week's game by Bailey, yet Neita still struggled today and showed just as little as last week. A boy sitting behind me asked today if a captain can be dropped then someone answered that Richie Vandenberg was dropped for a period of time whilst he was captain?? Anyone know how that worked out, or didn't work out?

Very sad and tough time for Neita. :(

No.1 David Neitz

Neitz is too old to be carrying the team, but is usefull as a 2nd tall forward & takes a very good opponent.

Robbo is fat, lazy & finished, He doesn't care anymore & should go. Play Bate @ fullforward.

Yze is finished, far too slow.

Green must be traded, I am so sick of seeing him find cheap kicks in the back pocket & the lack of hard running from him astounds me how he gets away with it for so long now.

White should just be a backup ruck as we, put games into PJ (1) when he gets back, & also Jamar (2).

Noticed this especially today, and whilst he was one of the major culprits, sadly was not the only one. The so-called senior players of the club set an especially poor example for the young kids coming through in this regard. The likes of Green, White, Bruce and Robertson are constantly making position twenty metres ahead of the player in possession in the pockets and flanks, rather than pushing to a dangerous position further up the ground that will help advance the ball forward of the centre.

The worse part is that these players are constantly rewarded for their 'positioning' by getting the cheap one over the top. It's only a matter of time before the new boys like Morton realize that if they want to get a kick, all they have to do is hover around these pockets and flanks and they'll exponentially increase their stats sheet, whilst not helping us move forward as a club one bit...

True.

The game passed him by when he was about 11.

MFC still hold out hope that one day he might be as good as his old man. there obviously slow learners.

I must be one of the few, as angry as we all are, doesnt the idea of a Melbourne demons team with Neita bring a tear to your eye? He is the heart and soul of this team, and has been for a decade. He has been below average, but in his defence not many forwards would be kicking bags with the $hitful delivery and today the umpires were ANTI Neitz and co.

He has been average, but SURELY, he will get one last chance next week. One last chance to turn it on and kick/mark himself back into form.

I will be at the footy next week, I do not want it to be the last time i ever watch the great David Neitz play in the Red and Blue. I hope he can turn it aorund, and play the season out.

the fact is, david neitz takes the no. 1 forward...you cant expect him to kick bags with sh** delivery and a complete lack of inside 50's with no space to run into...he has not lost it, just wait until we actually have a good amount of effective inside 50's and he will play well...he his actually allowing for the development of other forwards by taking the no. 1 back, its just bailey is not really trying anyone else

rumour has it that green is sneakily being crept into the forward line each week, because they recon he could go on for atleast another 5 years as a FF

  • REPORT: Fremantle

For this year’s Easter Saturday game at the MCG, Simon Goodwin and his Demons wound the clock back a few years to wipe out the horrible memories of last season’s twin thrashings at the hands of the Dockers. And it was about time! Melbourne’s indomitable skipper Max Gawn put in a mammoth performance in shutting out his immediate opponent Sean Darcy in the ruck and around the ground and was a colossus at the end when the game was there to be won or lost. It was won by 16.11.107 to 14.13.97. There was the battery-charged Easter Bunny in Kysaiah Pickett running anyone wearing purple ragged, whether at midfield stoppages or around the big sticks. He finish with a five goal haul.

  • CASEY: UWS Giants

The Casey Demons took on an undefeated UWS Giants outfit at their own home ground on a beautiful autumn day but found themselves completely out of their depth going down by 53 points against a well-drilled and fair superior combination. Despite having 15 AFL listed players at their disposal - far more than in their earlier matches this season - the Demons were never really in the game and suffered their second defeat in a row after their bright start to the season when they drew with the Kangaroos, beat the Suns and matched the Cats for most of the day on their own dung heap at Corio Bay. The Giants were a different proposition altogether. They had a very slight wind advantage in the opening quarter but were too quick off the mark for the Demons, tearing the game apart by the half way mark of the term when they kicked the first five goals with clean and direct football.
