How can we get Alwyn ?

I'm spewing that the Demons didn't pick up Alwyn Davey.

He joined us for pre-season training and should be playing alongside his brother.

Now that Sheedy is gone, what are the chances of him electing to come to Melbourne when he goes out of contract ?

We could maybe trade Miller for him.

why did he join melbourne for pre season training when he has his own club?

If he falls off the Radar this season, the dons may let him go. But chances are they will do all they can to keep him.

I would be more worried about the dons poaching aaron.

No, he trained with us before being drafted in summer 05/06. We had the chance to rookie him, but decided against it.

noooo we should ave got him. it would be great having one in each pocket dont u think

No.

We already have one of the smallest, albeit most brilliant, players in the side. With two Daveys running around we would struggle with the hard stuff. It's all well and good to have him there as depth for when Aaron does his annual hammy, but Alwyn can do better.

Two Daveys... we'd just be pushed aside.

Agreed Dan.

  • REPORT: Hawthorn

The final score in Saturday's game against Hawthorn was almost identical to that from their last contest three months ago. Melbourne suffered comprehensive defeats in both games, but the similarities ended there. When they met in Round 9, the Demons were resurgent, seeking to redeem themselves after a lacklustre start to the season. They approached the game with vigour and dynamism, and were highly competitive for the first three quarters, during which they were at least on par with the Hawks. In the final term, they lapsed into error and were ultimately overrun, but the final result did not accurately reflect their effort and commitment throughout the match.

  • CASEY: Box Hill

The Casey Demons ended the regular season on a positive note and gained substantial momentum leading into the finals when they knocked the Box Hill Hawks off the top of the VFL ladder in their final round clash at Casey Fields. More importantly, they moved out of a wild card position in the finals race and secured a week's rest as they leapfrogged up the ladder into fifth place with their decisive 23-point victory over the team that had been the dominant force in the competition for most of the season.
