    pathetic

IMO we definately should have had a serious dip for the NAB Cup. Stringing 5 wins together should be easier that making the finals and winning the big one in the premiership season. Why not give the senior guys a decent hit out - afterall most of them sat on their laurels for most of last year. It rubs salt into the wound for me that the club traded Trapper who put in such a great effort for the Brisbane Lions up at Carrara and all of our senior players are a complete embarassment against Geelong .... Now we still have to travel the country playing "challenge" matches in [censored] poor venues where we still risk injury to our players. There is almost as much prize money in the NAB Cup as winning the Grand Final and we could sure use it and the extra memberships. It has helped Geelong and Carlton recently to stay up there. Why not us ??? As for that playing strip - what are the boffins that run our club seriously thinking ??? major embarassment all round.
  2. I'd love to see Ephram play full-forward for the Demons. He is without a doubt the Jason Dunstall of Northern Territory footy. They said the same things about Dunstall and Lockett. If they rejected those guys, the AFL woud be without the tonne a year full-forwards they became famous for. Sadly they do these days and the competition is worse off for it. While Dean Rioli, another Tiwi, was often the butt of weight jokes, he was truly a champion player. You shouldn't need a figure like Anthony Koutoufides just to succeed at the top level. Too much AFL emphasis these days is on height and athleticism rather than footy smarts and ability. What is truly inspiring is that Aussie is not even the best Tiwi player out there. Sure, he is one of the best 18 year old Tiwis, but there is some serious talent up there. Problem for the recruiters is that it is difficult to determine most of their ages. The playing sheets don't mention their DOB. Aussie had a lot of exposure simply because he was part of the NT Under 18s team. But before now there hasn't really been a traditional pathway for these kids. I'm sure there are plenty of guys who could easily fit into AFL rookie lists. I'd encourage anyone who hasn't to visit Bathurst Island in March to see the TIFL Grand Final. It is an experience you'll never forget.
  3. I'm spewing that the Demons didn't pick up Alwyn Davey. He joined us for pre-season training and should be playing alongside his brother. Now that Sheedy is gone, what are the chances of him electing to come to Melbourne when he goes out of contract ? We could maybe trade Miller for him.
