Drove past Junction Oval this morning and thought I saw a small group of what seemed Melbourne players out on the oval, could this be the start of special training and Baileys teachings? did anyone else notice it? I could be wrong, who knows..

might be cricketers. were they with a footy?

The bulldogs 1st year players started back today, could be something like that, those who joined this year getting in for extra weights and fitness.

I can confirm that a small group of our boys were ordered to Junction oval today to have a small session with Dean Bailey and Paul Williams

The players were Colin Sylvia, Brent Moloney, Jace Bode, Simon Buckley, Clint Bartram and Ricky Petterd

Your guess is as good as mine as to why those guys were singled out

When do Bailey and Co. leave for China? I thought they were gone by now.

Buckley seems the odd one out, because the other 5 have had injury worries in 2007 so it's possible that they are starting on a modified program a bit earlier than the rest of the group.

Isn't Bartram meant to be in China?

Bailey is in CHina, so either someone is telling me porkies or they got a name mixed up

i dont know about everyone else...but all of this excites me a lot...can't wait to see what we can get out of sylvia and pettard. maybe if sylvia fails in the midfield we might be able to turn him into robbos replacement in a couple of years...just a suggestion

  • CASEY: UWS Giants

The Casey Demons took on an undefeated UWS Giants outfit at their own home ground on a beautiful autumn day but found themselves completely out of their depth going down by 53 points against a well-drilled and fair superior combination. Despite having 15 AFL listed players at their disposal - far more than in their earlier matches this season - the Demons were never really in the game and suffered their second defeat in a row after their bright start to the season when they drew with the Kangaroos, beat the Suns and matched the Cats for most of the day on their own dung heap at Corio Bay. The Giants were a different proposition altogether. They had a very slight wind advantage in the opening quarter but were too quick off the mark for the Demons, tearing the game apart by the half way mark of the term when they kicked the first five goals with clean and direct football.

It’s Game Day, and the Demons return to the MCG wounded, undermanned and desperate. Still searching for their first win of the season, Melbourne faces a daunting task against the Fremantle Dockers. With key pillars missing at both ends of the ground, the Dees must find a way to rise above the adversity and ignite their season before it slips way beyond reach. Will today be the spark that turns it all around, or are we staring down the barrel of a 0–6 start?
