Hardwick seems to be firming. Seemed to interview ok with Melb as well. I'm guessing the position wont be finalised until after Bomber Thompson meets with Essendon folk.

I'd read somewhere that Sumich and Judd didn't get on that well.

there was nothing but praise for hardwick when he went through our process... look at everyone else who made our top 5, eventual winner bailey, supercoach sheedy, caretaker riley and the experienced connolly... says alot for hardwick being among that company, with PG having alot of praise for hardwick saying he will definately be a senior coach one day... they just felt he was a little wet behind the ears, perhaps going through our process helped him get the essendon job...

But as has been said it is not necessarily surprising.

And hopefully he will not be lost to the game for too long though !!!

Danners should pick up a footy manager job like Balme or Connolly have. He would be good at it and would have much better job security
