KEVIN SHEEDY - We are looking at the great man

Featured Replies

Would we have the money he wants? Do we find & pay him whatever he wants? He wont have all the luxury of supporting staff & facilities that he has become accustom to at Essendon.

Well he is 59 going on 65 most people are retired by then.

He will take it.

We at MFC need to reinstate a harder edge throughout the club. It's now or never. When your hungry you'll do what it takes to satisfy the need.

GET SHEEDS!

I'm on a concession, but I will kick this off with a promise of buying an 2008 membership before xmas & pledge $50.00 to the GET SHEEDS!fund.

C'mon get on board, if it is to be, then it's up to US!

You should buy a membership regardless...

i'd love to have sheedy as coach if the process in place concludes that he is the best man for the job, and sheedy himself wants to coach us.

i'm not going to bribe the club into hiring someone

Yeah mate I don't think us giving the club some money is gonna make them go. "oh wow its so clear now, we just need to hire Sheedy"

Yeah, personally I think The Kev would be fantastic for the club.

Imagine how much our young fellas and our future leaders like Brock and Jonesy etc would benefit from all his experience. Everyone within the footy community has respect for Sheeds- sadly WE currently don't have anyone's respect. He may be the man to help us win it back.

Its pretty obvious that with Connolly at the helm we won't be any better off...Get Sheeds and it'll be "game on molles!"

We need someone with intestinal fortitude of the contagious kind.

Well, to say I am excited at the prospect of the great man coaching us is the understatement of the year!

I can't stop thinking about it!!

I get the feeling that Sheeds is pretty bloody excited at the prospect of coaching one of the oldest clubs in the world! It will be our 150th next year and I reckon Sheeds will be gettin' a chubby just thinking about it!

The man is as passionate as any man that has ever been involved in footy and he would take great pleasure and satisfaction in building the Red 'n Blue back to it's once powerful self.... If he could retire from coaching in 3-5 after winning the premiership at Melbourne then he would die a very happy man! The history and prestige that goes with our great club will be the driving force behind his want (and need) to succeed!

Just thinking out loud :o

we all would !!! :D

  • NON-MFC: 2026 Opening Round

Finally the 2026 AFL Premiership Season is upon us. While Melbourne sits out Opening Round, there is still plenty of footy to enjoy with five non-MFC clashes to kick off the new season. It all begins on Thursday night with a blockbuster at the SCG as Sydney hosts Carlton in what should be a strong early test for both sides. On Friday night, Gold Coast gets its chance to open the season in front of a home crowd when the Suns and Christian Petracca take on Geelong at People First Stadium. Saturday features a double-header, starting in the afternoon with Greater Western Sydney and Clayton Oliver meeting the Hawks at Engie Stadium. That is followed on Saturday night by Brisbane Lions hosting the Western Bulldogs at the Gabba, with the Lions embarking on their campaign to win the Threepeat. Opening Round wraps up on Sunday night at the MCG, where St Kilda takes on Collingwood in the only game in town in the first week of the season. There is no shortage of storylines across the round, so discuss all the action from the non-MFC games of Opening Round.

  • PREGAME: St. Kilda

With just over two weeks until their opening match of the 2026 AFL Premiership season, the Demons are already well on the path to redemption and have the Saints firmly in their sights ahead of their mid-March clash at the MCG. What do you think the team will look like when they run out on to the G?

  • REPORT: Richmond

Mars is not usually a place known for lighting strikes but on Friday evening it happened twice in the vicinity of the stadium in Ballarat that carries the name and is a half completed building site with limited capacity for spectators.

It's Game Day and the 2026 AFL Premiership season is almost upon us as the Demons take to the field for their final practice match before the first ball is kicked in anger in 16 days time. What are you expecting to see from the Dees today as they take on the Tigers at Mars Stadium in Ballarat?
