Another thing I found interesting Max said was he hasn’t seen him or spoken to him since he came into the club to do his retirement speech (which was never posted by the club I don’t recall?). Wishes him well and he was happy for both parties to make the decision for him to part ways. Club can focus and May could focus on his family. Unsure if he also spoke about this on the podcast.

It was never posted by the club because it never happened.

I don’t know why Max would say May came to make a retirement speech but I do know he wasn’t given the opportunity.

Interestingly, Reg comes from Maysie’s current club, East Ringwood. I’m sure there’ll be plenty of them at the match or watching it on TV. I met a few of Reg’s teammates at Gosch’s during the preseason. They said they’re blown away he was drafted by us and they can’t wait to see him debut.

Yes it did, he went to the club on March 1 and gave a speech to the playing group.

I stand corrected. What he wasn’t afforded was the opportunity to tell his teammates first before it became public knowledge.

Yep - not even Gawn knew.

Heard via a podcast, via Max, what was said to Max at the end of the pies game last year. Might be that many others have heard the story and I missed it.

I can see why trouble follows him

Go on...

Ahhh south Croydon... Saw one of the best all in crowd brawls at that ground, a guy jumped off the changeroom shed roof into it.
What a town Croydon was

  • PREVIEW: Richmond

Who would have imagined, when the season kicked off early last month, that Melbourne would emerge from the opening six weeks with wins over both Queensland powerhouses? At the time, Gold Coast and Brisbane were the competition’s early pace-setters, the flavours of the month, and the prospect of the Demons toppling both within the course of a fortnight seemed remote. Yet here they are, banking those scalps alongside home victories over two traditional Victorian rivals and building a quietly impressive resume.
