I heard somewhere that the Suns only are allowed to bid on 2 Academy players if they make the finals and there are 2 standouts in front of White. atm. Maybe thats wishful thinking and we know things can change in season quickly such as form and AFL policies.

They are certainties to make finals.

no, that was quietly removed with the change to the new points allocations

the northern franchises have full access to as many academy selections as they want to / can take

If I was GCS I'd use points (assuming you can still combine trash picks) and then park him in the VFL for two years. If he does okay you can then trade him for a high second or low first.

It's a variation of the original GWS draft and trade ploy. One problem is that Tasmania will take a lot of quality players.

If we finish bottom 4 this year would we use our second round pick on KW?

Not worried about who rucks after Max. We'll find someone servicable to do the job. Key forwards and key backs much bigger issues.

  • REPORT: Carlton

The text messages started flooding in shortly after quarter time. One read: “Is Melbourne even at the ground?” Moments later, as Carlton’s Elijah Hollands kicked the first goal of the second term, the Blues held a commanding 43-point lead. By then, the Demons’ only score was a behind kicked by Brody Mihocek nearly five minutes into the game. Ironically, Mihocek would also register the last minor score of the day after the game took a dramatic turnaround.
