There is an ascent coming the way of the Tigers and it is not too far away; a few more experiential opportunities for their team , and its newer components and they will be off like rockets. Yze is a brain, as he showed onfield for the Dees. I really feel our negligence in not keeping him, to ascend (at least a year ago) to Goodwin's position, was a critical miscalculation; geez, it's more than mere coaching, it is the dismantling of our DNA - there are quite a few retired Dees who could form the best 'coaching coterie' that the game has ever seen and it would bring with it the pride of the red 'n blue including an amazing level of resolve to be part of the team worthy of continuous successes.

Goodwin held the cup aloft

Ooze won it

And folk wonder why we're disappearing into the abyss since he left. ... hmmm

Saw Richmond live on Saturday - id say they start faves against us. Quality is lacking in spots as you would expect however they are playing as a connected unit and work in unison.

It's pretty rare to see a team as disconnected as we are. Something is really off this year.

You're right Deemania, we were such a badly run club to renew SG and let Yze go. Now we get to watch our team swap places with them. Other clubs and coaches are laughing at us.

In that Grand Final, Ooze did have an impact .... I remember the chat between Gawn, Viney, Tracca and Oliver as they came out of the half-time break after the Coach's tirade and 'advice'. At that point, the Mighty Dees were in real trouble of winning the game using Badloss' method. The boys in the centre, just before the bounce down at the start of the 3rd Q, obviously said to themselves and 'distributed' the message they had across the team, that they were going to play the rest of the GF in another manner. Their manner. Bang, bang, bang - they did it! I thought at the time: Surely Yze had something to do with this - Grand Final opportunities rarely come around, there was too much to lose, there could be another way ... and here it is, boys!

Don't know that the turn around in the third quarter was really anything to do with coaching specifically. All our gun players just went to another level and we started walking out the front of clearance and nailing every shot at goal at the same time the Dogs were hitting a wall.

I attended a regional footy night , Feb 22

A number of the lads and Ooze.

I didn't get much of a chance to talk with him though I did get to say " Adem, not sure what you said or did, but thankyou" He simply grinned.

A near full strength Demons were outplayed all night against a Blues outfit that was under the pump and missing at least 9 or 10 of the best players. Time for some hard decisions to be made across the board.

  • PREVIEW: Carlton

Good evening, Demon fans and welcome back to the Demonland Podcast ... it’s time to discuss this week’s game against the Blues. Will the Demons celebrate Clayton Oliver’s 200th game with a victory? We have a number of callers waiting on line … Leopold Bloom: Carlton and Melbourne are both out of finals contention with six wins and eleven losses, and are undoubtedly the two most underwhelming and disappointing teams of 2025. Both had high expectations at the start of participating and advancing deep into the finals, but instead, they have consistently underperformed and disappointed themselves and their supporters throughout the year. However, I am inclined to give the Demons the benefit of the doubt, as they have made some progress in addressing their issues after a disastrous start. In contrast, the Blues are struggling across the board and do not appear to be making any notable improvements. They are regressing, and a significant loss is looming on Saturday night. Max Gawn in the ruck will be huge and the Demon midfield have a point to prove after lowering their colours in so many close calls.
