DR4 Brownlow Medal

Thats the question. Can anyone catch Chris Judd. His form is just unbelievable, which has led to him becoming the shortest price Brownlow medal favourite after Round 8 in history. He leads my medal by a staggering 5 votes, with daylight a distant second. Well, actually Jimmy Bartel is leading the pack of chasers, but I dont think anyone can catch Judd. He is just unbelievable.

C. Judd - 16

J. Bartel - 11

A. McLeod - 9

C. Cornes - 9

D. Kerr* - 9

S. Thompson - 9

S. West - 9

For those that are interested, the best placed Melbourne player is a long way back. Aaron Davey and Matthew Bate are both on 3 votes.

i actually think judd would have a few less due to kerr, especially early when kerr was the better of the 2, bartell would be right up there and possibly with a few more than 11

but who knows how the maggots see it, they cant see the right desicions on the field :)

now they know kerr's ineligible they'll probably just stop giving him votes, and starting giving them to judd instead

Quite right Tess, it is the duty of the umpires to vote on players no matter if they are inelgible or not. Obviously they do vote for ineligible players, otherwise there would never have been the Corey McKernan incident.

i shoudl've put a laughing face next to it, though i thought it was clear i was only having a laugh. lesson learnt!

He missed out on a ridiculous amount of votes. Yes, he got some still after being suspended but he didn't get as many as he deserved. They are very wary of who is ineligiable.

Adem yze would have to be up there.... i reckon he will have a couple by now...

  • AFLW PREVIEW: Essendon

It’s Pink Lady night at Princes Park — a vibey Friday evening setting for a high-stakes clash between second-placed Melbourne and eleventh-placed Essendon. The wind-sheltered IKON Park, a favourite ground of the Demon players, promises flair, fire and a touch of pink. Melbourne has never lost a home-and-away game here, though the ghosts of two straight-sets finals exits in 2023 still linger.

  • 2025 Player Reviews: # 1 Steven May

The premiership defender has shown signs of wear and tear due to age, and his 2025 season was inconsistent, ending poorly with a suspension and a noticeable decline in performance. The Demons are eager to integrate younger players onto their list and have indicated that they may not be able to guarantee him senior games next season, in what would be the final year of his contract.

The young key tall failed to make progress during the season, with a decline in his goal kicking output. His secondary role as a backup ruckman, which may have hindered his ability to further develop his game, and he was also impacted by the team's poor forward connection. It will be interesting to observe his performance under a new coaching regime.
