Petracca: "When the pressure mounted... we crumbled"

I think the dees team is TOO dependent on the system. We need to free ourselves up to play on instinct. Instinct is the fastest way to do anything. Lean into it more and the opposition will not be able to counteract the speed of those instinctual decisions.

I tend to agree Chook, but just wish we had better skills to go with, and take proper advantage of that instinct.

you could argue this happened when Richmond put the pressure on we conceded 10 straight goals after being 5 ahead in the first quarter. It is a pattern implying yielding to pressure. Goodwin puts down to natural momentum shift - not convinced.

Not only have you modified SL's quote you have made a fool of yourself. These antiquated views are boring, grow up.

Straight up pathetic misogyny.

Made worse by making it seem as if SL had made that comment, which I did at first - and was shocked because it was completely out of character for Salem's lot.

A little OTT, no? I don’t take even the slightest offence to this joke because it’s clearly just that… a joke. Yes, it’s not a great joke, but I’ve seen unfunnier jokes here… many of them. It’s the true misogynists who attempt to veil their caveman ways that you should be going after.

Problem is it is an ingrained habit.  Possible to overcome during practice, but in the heat of a split second decision, hard to overcome the habit.

I know what you mean ,I still reach for a smoke under pressure

  • DRAFT: The Next Generation

It was not long after the announcement that Melbourne's former number 1 draft pick Tom Scully was departing the club following 31 games and two relatively unremarkable seasons to join expansion team, the Greater Western Giants, on a six-year contract worth about $6 million, that a parody song based on Adele's hit "Someone Like You" surfaced on social media. The artist expressed lament over Scully's departure in song, culminating in the promise, "Never mind, we'll find someone like you," although I suspect that the undertone of bitterness in this version exceeded that of the original.

  • AFLW REPORT: Brisbane

A steamy Springfield evening set the stage for a blockbuster top-four clash between two AFLW heavyweights. Brisbane, the bookies’ favourites, hosted Melbourne at a heaving Brighton Homes Arena, with 5,022 fans packing in—the biggest crowd for a Melbourne game this season. It was the 11th meeting between these fierce rivals, with the Dees holding a narrow 6–4 edge. But while the Lions brought the chaos and roared loudest, the Demons aren’t done yet.
