Heard rumor half a dozen Demons impacted by Covid.
Any truth re this rumour.

Only half a dozen? Covid is infectious and the players are in close contact.

Demons infected pre match! True or False?

Played like True!
Didn’t run and seemed like North had 4 extra players.

Seems you may’ve answered your own question.

I watched them train today. They trained hard and look great. Having seen the session I’m super confident about this weekend.

Sounds like this week they may have more spring in their steps!

They looked like a different side to the one that lost on Sunday… full of energy, fit and fast and strong. They’ll come out firing on Sunday. ❤️💙

A special shout-out to those who do so having never shown interest in the W comp.

You can't have it both ways WCW. You want ( and I do to) more at games and by that more interest from fans.

First timers are perfectly entitled to comment positively or negatively to show they care. If the performance deserves credits that will be taken care of and equally if off the boil criticism is a given it is understandable.

Last week was the worst MFC AFL or AFLW performance for a decade since 100 pt thrashings in 2013.

If the grapevine talk is even remotely near about Covid or similar we are now in Chris Scott 2021 Prelim Final territory and we don't want to go down that path.

Our team has indisputably earnt the right of a second chance but if any of the last 3 performances are repeated that will be curtains I fear.

However there is too much class and spirit in this side to give away this opportunity without a real fight so like a champion horse does I believe we will win in a tight one and live to play the Lions again in Brisbane.

Firstly: someone coming to this thread to disparage “straight sets Simon” isn’t interested in commenting on the W comp, good or bad, so instead should take that sh!tt to another thread.

Secondly: *If Covid had swept through the team and hit several players hard and impacted our games vs Bris and especially vs North and everyone knew about it, do you think you’d be the only one making the Chris Scott comparison? Every man and his dog would be doing so.

Finally: your last paragraph is spot on. That champion horse you mentioned will well and truly bolt out of the gates this Sunday. Geelong will be an also-ran.

*”IF” because apart from some players telling, for example, a cheer squad member, we don’t really know, do we. 😉

Hanks had almost admitted ill health in interview on afl.com.au. But said all who played were fit Tom play.

Still don't agree either with you on your opinion just because you don't like their views on Goody or our team.

If they  belong to D/L they are able to post snd as long as Andy passes it  that's it.

That's what this forum is in Many ways is about.

Hanks handled it extremely well unlike Scott.

Funny that a young player showed more class than a senior coach.

Allegedly the illness took hold just before the Brisbane match. The following week was the most impactful. Even the coach wasn’t spared… allegedly.

(When Zanker has one touch to 3/4 time you know it’s gotta be something pretty serious.)

58er, I never said anything about ppl not being allowed to post. Why would I? It’s not like I have that authority. I expressed my dislike of ppl who use certain threads to air their grievances about something or someone totally unconnected. As you and many others say, I’m entitled to my opinion, right? And in my opinion these ppl need to pull their heads in. That’s my opinion. I know there’s Goody-bashers on here, nothing I can do to stop that. But surely I can suggest they take it elsewhere, especially after a humiliating thrashing of our W team which has left many of us on here devastated. Ppl need to read the room: a little sensitivity’s not too much to ask, no?

PS: my comment was in reply to another poster’s very similar comment. Just curious: why question me and not the other poster? This isn’t the first time it’s happened and you’re not the first person who’s done it.

  • AFLW PREVIEW: Port Adelaide

The undefeated Demons venture across the continent to the spiritual home of the Port Adelaide Football Club on Saturday afternoon for the inaugural match for premiership points between these long-historied clubs. Alberton Oval will however, be a ground familiar to our players following a practice match there last year. We lost both the game and Liv Purcell, who missed 7 home and away matches after suffering facial fractures in the dying moments of the game.

  • AFLW REPORT: Richmond

A glorious sunny afternoon with a typically strong Casey Fields breeze favouring the city end greeted this round four clash of the undefeated Narrm against the winless Tigers. Pre-match, the teams entered the ground through the Deearmy’s inclusive banner—"Narrm Football Weaving Communities Together and then Warumungu/Yawuru woman and Fox Boundary Rider, Megan Waters, gave the official acknowledgement of country. Any concerns that Collingwood’s strategy of last week to discombobulate the Dees would be replicated by Ryan Ferguson and his Tigers evaporated in the second quarter when Richmond failed to use the wind advantage and Narrm scored three unanswered goals.

  • CASEY: Frankston

The late-season run of Casey wins was broken in their first semifinal against Frankston in a heartbreaking end at Kinetic Stadium on Saturday night that in many respects reflected their entire season. When they were bad, they committed all of the football transgressions, including poor disposal, indiscipline, an inability to exert pressure, and some terrible decision-making, as exemplified by the period in the game when they conceded nine unanswered goals from early in the second quarter until halfway through the third term. You rarely win when you do this.

  • AFLW PREVIEW: Richmond

Round four kicks off early Saturday afternoon at Casey Fields, as the mighty Narrm host the winless Richmond Tigers in the second week of Indigenous Round celebrations. With ideal footy conditions forecast—20 degrees, overcast skies, and a gentle breeze — expect a fast-paced contest. Narrm enters with momentum and a dangerous forward line, while Richmond is still searching for its first win. With key injuries on both sides and pride on the line, this clash promises plenty.

  • AFLW REPORT: Collingwood

Expectations of a comfortable win for Narrm at Victoria Park quickly evaporated as the match turned into a tense nail-biter. After a confident start by the Demons, the Pies piled on pressure and forced red and blue supporters to hold their collective breath until after the final siren. In a frenetic, physical contest, it was Captain Kate’s clutch last quarter goal and a missed shot from Collingwood’s Grace Campbell after the siren which sealed a thrilling 4-point win. Finally, Narrm supporters could breathe easy.
