The MFC wont lobby the AFL. .Theyre too polite. It aggravates me.

So we could end up playing two Home and Away games back to back at the SCG. We recently played two H&A games at the gabba in 3 games. R23 + R2.

Nothing changes.

What’s the point though? What would lobbying achieve? A grand total of ZERO is the answer. Seems the only time we get something favourable is when it’s by happenstance, ie. something favours the Collingwoods and Carltons and we somehow are involved. Even then I’m sure it’s not through lack of the AFL trying to negate such.

And the only reason they can think of is that it pits Brodie against us.

Sheesh.

And they don't respect JJ enough to note that he may be playing against his old club too.

Getting very tired of the fixed fixture. It was one thing to have the occasional "blockbuster" but now the overly long season has become a compromised quagmire of mediocrity.

AFL are lucky they have no competition. They're starting to resemble the Indian Cricket Board

Lobbying a waste of time?

Essendon rarely play at the Cattery but did this year. Total disaster and started their downward slide.

You think they'll be playing there again next year or anytime soon. Eagles the same. Got out of the annual massacre round at the Cattery this season.

If youre right then atleast one of those [censored] clubs should be back there again in 24.

Ill be shocked if we're not. Several other clubs rarely if ever get sent there.

It’s the same old same old. Clubs such as ours don’t hold sway like the “big” clubs and the interstate clubs. We’ll be getting sent to Mordor every season, and on a Thursday night. I’m amazed we don’t play there on a Wednesday night! Wouldn’t surprise me in the least. 😑

That mid season bye scenario... from NT to QB and shorter breaks really derails our season,  we need it equal to everyone else

Just saying that Alice is a shorter trip  than Perth or Brisbane, and really much the same as Adelaide and Sydney as far as travel is concerned.
And 2023 aside, Alice is usually great non confronting weather.

figured the AFL would be thinking of new ways to [censored] the game up already

a bye in round 1/2 sounds very useful

👏

I like the idea. I like getting one of our road games done in Round 1, and I like getting some good prime time exposure.

The article suggests that we’d play again in the second week, which sounds odd - won’t be a “split round” if we play twice in it.

The AFL call it split. Maybe they can’t spell s**t?

A near full strength Demons were outplayed all night against a Blues outfit that was under the pump and missing at least 9 or 10 of the best players. Time for some hard decisions to be made across the board.

  • PREVIEW: Carlton

Good evening, Demon fans and welcome back to the Demonland Podcast ... it’s time to discuss this week’s game against the Blues. Will the Demons celebrate Clayton Oliver’s 200th game with a victory? We have a number of callers waiting on line … Leopold Bloom: Carlton and Melbourne are both out of finals contention with six wins and eleven losses, and are undoubtedly the two most underwhelming and disappointing teams of 2025. Both had high expectations at the start of participating and advancing deep into the finals, but instead, they have consistently underperformed and disappointed themselves and their supporters throughout the year. However, I am inclined to give the Demons the benefit of the doubt, as they have made some progress in addressing their issues after a disastrous start. In contrast, the Blues are struggling across the board and do not appear to be making any notable improvements. They are regressing, and a significant loss is looming on Saturday night. Max Gawn in the ruck will be huge and the Demon midfield have a point to prove after lowering their colours in so many close calls.
