Mallett is correct.   All other suggestions are not.

Only player eliminated for being too good thus far is WCW.

I just worked out number 6. 🤓

You can PM me with your suggestions if you like WCW.  (World Cryptic Wizard)

Lyon is also correct m064 and that's your quota of correct answers.  Well played!

It must be so obvious that I’m champing at the bit to answer more of them 😆

Massie not correct, I'm sorry Mazer.

WCW has sent me a PM with two correct answers but is not allowed to post them here according to the draconian rules of this brainteaser.

Do other players think I should make an exception and let her show off on this occasion?

YES!

Oh, you said other posters.
As you were.

4 Bob Massie (of Massey Ferguson fame)

Try Callum Ferguson if Bob Massie is incorrect.

mo64 found a way to get around the two correct answers rule. 😆

No he didn't.  Ferguson is incorrect!

Only two correct answers per player at this stage, mo.

I've now received two PMs with the correct answer to Q5 and have relented to congratulate WCW and mo64 for working out that the answer is Andy Bichel, being an anagram of "I belch" when brought up.

Mazer also sent me a correct answer, perhaps unaware that he still had the right to post in this thread.  He doesn't any more after cracking Q8 by answering Colin "Funky" Miller, or one who grinds away all day in his mill.

WCW also got Q6 (edit: also Q7) correct but I'll save those reveals for later.

Still a few to go.  Have at it Demonlanders!

I don't think Trumper played in the last 50 years deever!  Not the correct answer I'm afraid.

Should probably read the rules.😁

Not Katich and I'm not sure how you made that connection.

I was thinking of his mate pup.

That doesn't make it any clearer!

Solving cryptics requires a warped mind.  Yours is clearly not warped enough!  :D

I'm stumped

So, you thought Mick was a reference to Michael Clarke?  And that because Clarke’s nickname is Pup and a pup is a dog and dogs don’t like cats and Simon Katich’s name has a first syllable that sounds like Cat and therefore if Clarke was a selector he wouldn’t select Katich for this reason?

Is that what you’re thinking?

for the love of god, please say no

I'm not even close to your league.

I must say I'm at the stage of offering cash for answers.

You may send me your questions on the back of an unmarked $50 bill.  :D

I'm thinking it may be time to reveal both the correct answers that WCW has in the bank.  Any objections?

  • AFLW PREVIEW: Port Adelaide

The undefeated Demons venture across the continent to the spiritual home of the Port Adelaide Football Club on Saturday afternoon for the inaugural match for premiership points between these long-historied clubs. Alberton Oval will however, be a ground familiar to our players following a practice match there last year. We lost both the game and Liv Purcell, who missed 7 home and away matches after suffering facial fractures in the dying moments of the game.

  • AFLW REPORT: Richmond

A glorious sunny afternoon with a typically strong Casey Fields breeze favouring the city end greeted this round four clash of the undefeated Narrm against the winless Tigers. Pre-match, the teams entered the ground through the Deearmy’s inclusive banner—"Narrm Football Weaving Communities Together and then Warumungu/Yawuru woman and Fox Boundary Rider, Megan Waters, gave the official acknowledgement of country. Any concerns that Collingwood’s strategy of last week to discombobulate the Dees would be replicated by Ryan Ferguson and his Tigers evaporated in the second quarter when Richmond failed to use the wind advantage and Narrm scored three unanswered goals.

  • CASEY: Frankston

The late-season run of Casey wins was broken in their first semifinal against Frankston in a heartbreaking end at Kinetic Stadium on Saturday night that in many respects reflected their entire season. When they were bad, they committed all of the football transgressions, including poor disposal, indiscipline, an inability to exert pressure, and some terrible decision-making, as exemplified by the period in the game when they conceded nine unanswered goals from early in the second quarter until halfway through the third term. You rarely win when you do this.

  • AFLW PREVIEW: Richmond

Round four kicks off early Saturday afternoon at Casey Fields, as the mighty Narrm host the winless Richmond Tigers in the second week of Indigenous Round celebrations. With ideal footy conditions forecast—20 degrees, overcast skies, and a gentle breeze — expect a fast-paced contest. Narrm enters with momentum and a dangerous forward line, while Richmond is still searching for its first win. With key injuries on both sides and pride on the line, this clash promises plenty.

  • AFLW REPORT: Collingwood

Expectations of a comfortable win for Narrm at Victoria Park quickly evaporated as the match turned into a tense nail-biter. After a confident start by the Demons, the Pies piled on pressure and forced red and blue supporters to hold their collective breath until after the final siren. In a frenetic, physical contest, it was Captain Kate’s clutch last quarter goal and a missed shot from Collingwood’s Grace Campbell after the siren which sealed a thrilling 4-point win. Finally, Narrm supporters could breathe easy.
