Although I do honestly hope that this wasn't a reaction to current fan bitching.

Of course it was... It was the lead demons story in all the media for the past week and would have continued every time the team showed bad form.

There have been several times previously that the ooze should have been the one droppped...

IMO this was not one of them. I do not have faith in wheatley or godfrey.

If (and I suppose this to be the intention) it succeeds and sends a clear message to all that a place in the Mighty Dees side must be earnt.... then well done.

I would like to congratulate Yze on his run of 226 games... This is an enormous feat, I know that he has played through injury and worked hard to get up each week.

The question is now.... who gets burnt next?

If we lose on Monday, Daniher.

Watch all the previously keen 'drop Yze' supporters turn on their position and blame the loss on Daniher dropping Yze.

If we win, probably Miller

The funniest thing is who is now being considered to come in for an injured Bartram.

Godfrey or Bizzell !

Sorry.......give me an Yze (in or out of form) anyday!

I see Yze being dropped as a step in the right direction. I fear though that Neale has shut the gate well and truly after the horse has bolted. If we win on Monday, I won't be lauding that it was because Adem wasn't there, if we lose I won't be bitching about the other selections. For me and others there are far deeper issues in relation to not only the game plan, but player attitudes.

Can't help thinking this whole Yze thing has just been one big witch hunt!

"Witch hunt" is a term I think I used here last year to describe the Yze-bashing that has gone on here for some time. It's become popular to slag the bloke off to the point where he has become Melbourne's equivalent of Simon Crawshay, and anyone who disagrees is deemed to be a moron. It has been an impressive snowball effect.

Last week, Yze was poor, very poor. So poor in fact, that he was probably only about our 5th or 6th best player on a night of comical ineptitude. Looking at the ins and outs, I'd say this is one of the poorer week of team losses and gains we've had for quite some time.

If Yze comes back from Sandy a better player then that's great, and I understand that's what a lot of people on here are on about and that's fine. Just don't expect me to join in the Yze-slogathon any time soon. I think his 258 games have earnt him that courtesy from me at the very least.

I wish that brock would break styne's record one day. . . :D

The rate hes going he wont. My worry with Brock is that perhaps hes too tough. I love brock like any other melb supporter and i love how he risks his body for the footy however i would prefer 10 great years out of him instead of 7 years. If he keeps up the rate of his hardness, hes not going to be a 10 year player and althoiugh it would be sad to see the extent of his style cut down, i would perfer he did so he can be a 10 year player for us. Bit of repitition there. Sorry

guys i think what neale said about the side show was justified. by getting rid of the record it gives yze a chance to focus on footy, and on the media being able to focus on how he played, rather than the record. its now no longer innuendo that he was only getting picked for the record. yze is a match winner. one of the few players on the mfc list who has the ability to change the game off his own boot in 15 minutes. he can play as a crumber, or as a strong marker. he can get lots of possesions or kick lots of goals. he is versitile. he will play 20 games for the red and blue this year no doubt, but now the pressure is off we might see him enjoy the footy a bit more. we might see him have a few better games, but importantly the way he plays might be percieved to be a little less selfish. after all, he is no longer playing for his record, he is playing for the team.

No he hasnt but i guess the odds are stacked against that type of in and under footy.

yze would have broken the record....

and he would never have been dropped....

it never was about his form..

just about the stigma that surronded him and the record... well done to the media and the fans who bash him week in week out.... u robbed a yze of that record...

the foucus became the record and not Yze.

although i still think neal did the right thing, it was a tuff call and he made it... the issue was getting too much of a big deal...

i hope yze can go on and play his best football. if he doesnt it is will be very sad time... for one for the most popular players at MFC

well Done Yze....u are a champion

as for the person who quoted i wish brock would break the record....

he might break the record for most weeks missed by injury...

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

WAYNE WUSSELL'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Rehab: Lever, Spargo, McAdam, Lindsay, Brown Sinnema is excellent by foot and has a decent vertical leap. Windsor is training with the Defenders. Windsor's run won't be lost playing off half back. In 19 games in 2024 he kicked 8 goals as a winger. I see him getting shots at g

Demonland's own Whispering Jack was not in attendance but he kicked off proceedings with the following summary of all the Preseason Training action to date. BEST OF THE REST by Meggs

Meggs' Review of Melbourne's AFLW Season 9 ... Congratulations first off to the North Melbourne Kangaroos on winning the 2024 AFLW Premiership. Roos Coach Darren Crocker has assembled a team chock-full of competitive and highly skilful players who outclassed the Brisbane Lions in the Grand Final to remain undefeated throughout Season 9. A huge achievement in what was a dominant season by North. For Melbourne fans, the season was unfortunately one of frustration and disappointment
