Nice to see that the Tour de France is going ahead and starting this Saturday!  Not sure how they'll manage the social distancing with the crowds along the road... it's sure to be a logistical nightmare when it comes to maintaining numbers and order; but I'll certainly be watching the greatest sporting event and travel guide known to humankind.

Damn! That’ll teach me to make assumptions based on seeing only the last part of the advert ?

Don't worry,  I saw the same advert and wasn't paying attention and thought the same thing.

Went to the planner to bookmark & record and no go!

What makes it a little more ambiguous is the fact the programming lists the coverage (in Foxtel's guide) as Live: Tour de France Etape Classique.

For those of us who would otherwise be calling it a night around 2am each night for the next month, having just made it through the Giro, Paris - Roubaix/Nice, I think this is going to be brilliant!

I also can't wait to relive stages from the glory days of Liggett and Sherwin!!

Also FWIW, I read recently that ASO are still planning to hold Le Tour in August-September which, as you mentioned HT, will be very interesting to see how they handle social distancing protocols etc.

They've stated they intend to hold the events with no crowds, which will be very interesting to see how that is enforced at such a unique sporting event. Not to mention that, like every other sporting code in the world right now, it's the crowd that often make this event so special - especially on those long Alps or Pyrenees stages.

Tuned in tonight and the highlights packages (Etape Classique) are very good ... 3 stages tonight all from the 2013 tour.  The Island of Corsica featured.

I doubt we'll see anything with Armstrong involved though RF.  That's a blessing!

UP IN LIGHTS by Whispering Jack

Those who watched the 2024 Marsh AFL National Championships closely this year would not be particularly surprised that Melbourne selected Victoria Country pair Harvey Langford and Xavier Lindsay on the first night of the AFL National Draft. The two left-footed midfielders are as different as chalk and cheese but they had similar impacts in their Coates Talent League teams and in the National Championships in 2024. Their interstate side was edged out at the very end of the tournament for tea
