Early prognosis

Andrew Brayshaw had his foot stomped on during the win against West Coast and he underwent scans that cleared him of any break. The Dockers have not put a timeframe on Stephen Hill's return after he sustained another quad injury. Blake Acres' hamstring tendon injury is serious and he could miss up to eight weeks. Joel Hamling's ankle injury remains the long-term concern for the club, while David Mundy, Alex Pearce and Nathan Wilson lifted the intensity of their running and are pushing for early-season returns, potentially in the first month. Hayden Young is having his training loads managed and was left out of the team that played West Coast. - Nathan Schmook

Freo certainly have one of the worst injury lists at the moment.

This is an absolute critical must win game, if the first two tough games don't go our way.

Freo will be good this year.

We could be 0-3 after this game which would likely be season over.

Early prognosis

The Dockers have fast-tracked their expected returns for David Mundy, Alex Pearce and Nathan Wilson just a week after estimating they won't be available until round four or five. They are being conservative with Stefan Giro, however, after the midfielder spent time with the main training group. The Dockers confirmed on Tuesday Hayden Young had experienced quad tightness, resulting in his training load being managed. James Aish and Luke Ryan need to pass fitness tests after being withdrawn from the second Marsh Community Series match. - Nathan Schmook

It’s been a season of grit, growth, and glimpses of brilliance—mixed with a few tough interstate lessons. Now, with finals looming, the Dees head to Kardinia Park for one last tune-up before the real stuff begins.

  • DRAFT: The Next Generation

It was not long after the announcement that Melbourne's former number 1 draft pick Tom Scully was departing the club following 31 games and two relatively unremarkable seasons to join expansion team, the Greater Western Giants, on a six-year contract worth about $6 million, that a parody song based on Adele's hit "Someone Like You" surfaced on social media. The artist expressed lament over Scully's departure in song, culminating in the promise, "Never mind, we'll find someone like you," although I suspect that the undertone of bitterness in this version exceeded that of the original.

  • AFLW REPORT: Brisbane

A steamy Springfield evening set the stage for a blockbuster top-four clash between two AFLW heavyweights. Brisbane, the bookies’ favourites, hosted Melbourne at a heaving Brighton Homes Arena, with 5,022 fans packing in—the biggest crowd for a Melbourne game this season. It was the 11th meeting between these fierce rivals, with the Dees holding a narrow 6–4 edge. But while the Lions brought the chaos and roared loudest, the Demons aren’t done yet.
