Retired: Lewis
Delisted: Garlett
Sign on: Frost, Baker, J Smith, ANB (barring a trade)
Train on: J Wagner, JKH, Stretch, Jones
Main list spots: 2-6

Retired rookie: Maynard
Delisted: Keilty
Retained/Added: Chandler, Lockhart, Dunkley (Bradtke, ?Walker)
Train on: T Smith, C Wagner
Rookie list spots: 0-4

I don't see the rush to delist anyone else. None of Wagner x 2, Jones, Stretch, JKH or T Smith are so bad they should go immediately, likewise none have a strong case to go around again next year.

If the trade period breaks our way and we end up with 4 good picks and 4 good players without giving up too much then we see who and what we've bought in and maybe they all go.

If Tim Smith retires or his body is shot that's fair enough, if we can't attract a good key forward prospect and he's back healthy then I'd keep him. If we find the wing upgrades that we need then we say bye to JKH and Stretch or Corey Wagner. Find a good half back then it's Josh Wagner. I'd imagine this process would go until the rookie draft really, that's how the smart clubs are managing the bottom part of their list.

Off - Lewis ( ret ) Maynard (ret)  Keilty (delisted) Garlett (delisted)

Walker will retire himself.

Tim Smith unlikely to go on.

Jkh and jWagner on thin melting ice.

Spargo hard to see him having the tools to deliver at AFL level (harsh but reality)

Stretch and Jsmith may seek trades

medicals for Vdberg and kk.

Lots of changes ahead. Probably 8-9 list changes.

  • AFLW PREVIEW: Essendon

It’s Pink Lady night at Princes Park — a vibey Friday evening setting for a high-stakes clash between second-placed Melbourne and eleventh-placed Essendon. The wind-sheltered IKON Park, a favourite ground of the Demon players, promises flair, fire and a touch of pink. Melbourne has never lost a home-and-away game here, though the ghosts of two straight-sets finals exits in 2023 still linger.

  • 2025 Player Reviews: # 1 Steven May

The premiership defender has shown signs of wear and tear due to age, and his 2025 season was inconsistent, ending poorly with a suspension and a noticeable decline in performance. The Demons are eager to integrate younger players onto their list and have indicated that they may not be able to guarantee him senior games next season, in what would be the final year of his contract.

  • 2025 Player Reviews: # 2 Jacob van Rooyen

The young key tall failed to make progress during the season, with a decline in his goal kicking output. His secondary role as a backup ruckman, which may have hindered his ability to further develop his game, and he was also impacted by the team's poor forward connection. It will be interesting to observe his performance under a new coaching regime.
